[브레이크뉴스=박찬호 기자] 대한적십자사 경남지사(회장 박희순)는 19일(화) 한국남동발전(사장 강기윤)이 진주시에 거주하는 거동 불편 어르신을 위해 700만 원 상당의 보행보조기 52대를 지원했다고 밝혔다.
한국남동발전이 후원하고, 경남 사회복지공동모금회가 지원하는 이번 사업은 노후화된 유모차를 이용하거나 경제적으로 보행보조기를 구매하기 어려운 저소득층 어르신들을 대상으로 안전사고를 예방하고 경제적 부담을 완화하기 위해 진행되었다.
한국남동발전 관계자는 “보행보조기가 거동이 불편한 어르신들께 든든한 다리 역할을 해, 안전하고 활기찬 일상생활을 하시는데 도움이 되길 바란다”며 “앞으로도 지역사회에 실질적으로 도움이 되는 맞춤형 지원사업을 적극 발굴하고 추진해 나가겠다”고 말했다.
