한중도시우호협회는 8월22일치 보도자료에서 “권기식 한중도시우호협회장은 19일 오전 서울시 영등포구 국회대로 소재 한중경제협력센터에서 중국 후베이(湖北)성 샨펑(咸風)현 대표단(단장 칭정웨이-覃正炜-현장)을 면담하고 한중 교류 방안을 협의했다”고 알렸다.
이 자료에 따르면, 권기식 회장은 "이재명 실용정부의 출범으로 한중 협력의 길이 활짝 열린 만큼 중국 도시들과 한국 도시들이 교류와 협력을 강화하기 바란다"고 말했다.

칭정웨이(覃正炜) 현장은 "한중도시우호협회와 협력해 한중 지방정부 교류를 적극 추진하고 싶다"며 지원을 요청하고 권 회장의 샨펑현 방문을 요청했다. 샨펑현은 인구 40만명의 소도시이지만 중국에서 최고급 백차(白茶)의 산지로 유명하다.
한중도시우호협회는 연내 중국 차의 주산지인 샨평현과 안화(安化)현 등을 방문할 예정이다.

In a press release dated August 22nd, the Korea-China Cities Friendship Association announced, "On the morning of the 19th, Chairman Kwon Ki-sik met with the Shanfeng County Delegation (led by Qing Zhengwei) in Hubei Province, China, at the Korea-China Economic Cooperation Center on Gukhoe-daero in Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul, and discussed ways to promote exchanges between the two countries."
According to the release, Chairman Kwon stated, "With the inauguration of the Lee Jae-myung pragmatic government, the path to cooperation between Korea and China has opened wide. I hope that Chinese and Korean cities will strengthen exchanges and cooperation."
Major Qing Zhengwei stated, "I would like to work with the Korea-China Cities Friendship Association to actively promote exchanges between Korean and Chinese local governments," requesting support and inviting Chairman Kwon to visit Shanfeng County. Shanfeng County, a small city with a population of 400,000, is renowned as a producer of China's finest white tea.
The Korea-China City Friendship Association plans to visit Shanfeng County and Anhua County, major tea-producing regions in China, within the year.
