브레이크뉴스 정민우 기자= 9개 업종 프랜차이즈에서 최근 5년간 식품위생법 위반이 3000건을 넘었지만, 대다수는 솜방망이 처분에 불과한 것으로 나타났다.
더불어민주당 서미화 의원이 식품의약품안전처로부터 제출받은 ‘외식 프랜차이즈 식품위생법 위반 현황 자료’에 따르면 2020년부터 2024년까지 9개 업종의 프랜차이즈에서 총 3133건의 식품위생법 위반 사례가 발생했다.
업종별로는 치킨이 1139건(36.4%)으로 가장 많았고, △카페 617건(19.7%) △햄버거 471건(15.0%) △떡볶이 330건(10.5%) △피자 267건(8.5%) △마라탕 219건(7.0%) △요거트 42건(1.3%) △탕후루 25건(0.8%) △육회·연어 23건(0.7%) 순이다.
연도별 추이를 보면, △2020년 491건 △2021년 501건 △2022년 662건 △2023년 759건 △2024년 720건이다. 2020년보다 2024년 약 46.6% 증가했다.
위반 유형별로는 음식물에 이물질이 들어간 경우인 ‘기준 및 규격 위반’이 1158건(37%)으로 가장 많았으며, △위생교육 미이수 968건(30.9%) △위생적 취급기준 위반 336건(10.7%) △건강진단 미실시 216건(6.9%) △영업자 준수사항 위반 185건(5.9%) 등이었다.

서 의원은 “국민 먹거리 안전을 지키는 일에는 타협이 있을 수 없다”며 “주요 프랜차이즈 업체만 해도 위반 사례가 2000여 건에 달하는 만큼, 식약처와 지자체뿐만 아니라, 프랜차이즈 본사도 가맹점에 대한 위생 지도에 적극적으로 나서야 한다”고 전했다.
