동국대 WISE캠퍼스, 제1회 여름방학 사진전 ‘여름, 나의 순간’ 개최

【브레이크뉴스 경주】박희경 기자=동국대학교 WISE캠퍼스(총장 류완하)는 지난 9일 교내 중앙도서관 갤러리 백상에서 제1회 여름방학 사진전 ‘여름, 나의 순간’을 개막했다. 전시는 오는 17일까지 진행된다.

이번 사진전은 학생들의 여름방학 순간을 기록한 작품들을 공모해 선정된 약 60여 점의 수상작으로 꾸려졌다. 학생처는 지난 8월 ‘여름방학의 특별한 기록’을 주제로 사진 공모전을 열었으며, 총 380여 점이 접수됐다. 심사를 거쳐 대상 1점, 최우수상 3점, 우수상 5점, 장려상 10점, 입선 35점이 최종 선정됐다.

개막식은 수상자 시상식과 총장의 인사말, 테이프 커팅, 작품 관람 등의 순서로 진행됐다. 류완하 총장은 “재학생들의 다양한 경험과 일상이 담긴 사진을 전시해 캠퍼스 소통의 장을 마련하게 되어 기쁘다”며 “앞으로도 학생들이 의미 있는 대학 생활을 이어갈 수 있도록 적극 지원하겠다”고 말했다.

이번 전시에는 학생 작품뿐 아니라 서운교 대외협력처장이 네팔에서 진행한 의료봉사 활동 사진도 함께 소개돼, 방학 기간 학생과 교원이 함께한 의미 있는 활동들을 공유하는 기회가 됐다.

한편, 동국대 WISE캠퍼스는 지난 5월 중앙도서관 2층에 갤러리 ‘백상’을 개관했다. 이후 디자인미술학과 교수미전을 시작으로 다양한 전시를 이어오며 교내 구성원을 위한 새로운 문화 공간으로 자리매김하고 있다.

 Dongguk University WISE Campus Holds First Summer Vacation Photo Exhibition, "Summer, My Moment"

Dongguk University WISE Campus (President Ryu Wan-ha) opened its first summer vacation photo exhibition, "Summer, My Moment," on the 9th at the Baeksang Gallery in the campus' Central Library. The exhibition runs until the 17th.

This photo exhibition features approximately 60 award-winning works selected from a contest for students to capture their summer vacation moments. The Office of Student Affairs held the photo contest in August under the theme "Special Records of Summer Vacation," and received a total of 380 entries. After a thorough review process, one grand prize winner, three excellence awards, five excellence awards, ten encouragement awards, and 35 honorable mentions were selected.

The opening ceremony included an awards ceremony, a speech by the president, a ribbon-cutting ceremony, and a viewing of the artwork. President Ryu Wan-ha said, "I am delighted to be able to exhibit photos capturing the diverse experiences and daily lives of our students, providing a forum for campus communication. We will continue to actively support our students so they can continue to have meaningful college experiences."

This exhibition not only showcases student work, but also includes photos from medical volunteer work in Nepal conducted by Director of External Affairs Seo Woon-kyo, providing an opportunity to share meaningful activities between students and faculty during the break.

Meanwhile, Dongguk University's WISE Campus opened the "Baeksang" gallery on the second floor of the Central Library in May. Since then, it has hosted a variety of exhibitions, starting with an exhibition of art by faculty from the Department of Design and Fine Arts, establishing itself as a new cultural space for the campus community.
