[노병한의 관상·칼럼]역학(易學) 음양오행의 형기(形氣)에서 출발한 이론이 상법(相法)·상술(相術)이다. 상법(相法)을 적용하는 대상은 땅·건물·사람에게 모두 같은 논리로 적용되는 이론이다. 예컨대 땅(地)의 생김새·형상(形相)으로 터(垈地)의 길흉을 다루는 게 지상학(地相學)이고, 건물(家)의 생김새·형상(形相)으로 건물(宅)의 길흉을 다루는 게 가상학(家相學)이며, 사람(人) 얼굴의 생김새·형상(形相)으로 운명과 운세의 길흉화복을 다루는 게 관상학(觀相學)이다.
관상학(觀相學)은 사람의 얼굴·면부(面部)·안면(顔面)의 형상(形相)을 보아 다가올 미래의 운명재수(運命財數)와 길흉화복(吉凶禍福)을 가늠하고 판단해 흉사(凶事)를 예방하고 복(福)을 부르려는 도교(道敎)에서 시작되고 유래한 점법(占法)·점술(占術)이다.
관상학(觀相學)에서 사람의 얼굴·면부(面部)·안면(顔面)의 형상(形相)에서 주요한 부위별로 생김새(形相)·찰색(察色)을 중요하게 살펴 따지는 게 일반적이다. 그래서 대부분 관상학(觀相學)이 주로 살피는 신체의 부위별 형상(形相)은 “얼굴·뼈·손·눈썹·코·입·귀·가슴·발·기색(氣色)”의 생김새와 특징에 국한에 살피는 게 현실이다.
이처럼 어느 편에서는 물형관상법(物形觀相法)만이 관상학의 정수인 것처럼, 다른 편에서는 찰색관상법(察色觀相法)만이 관상학의 핵심인 것처럼, 오행관상법(五行觀相法)만이 관상학의 전부인 것처럼 침소봉대(針小棒大)해 부풀려지고 과장되고 있음이 정통 관상학을 왜곡하는 안타까운 일이다.

그러나 올바른 관상학(觀相學)에서는 골격(體相)·수족(手足)·보행(步行)·모발(體毛)·음성(音聲)·서체(書體)·주름살(紋)·점(點)·상처(痕迹)·사마귀(黶) 등에 해당하는 “면상(面相)·골상(骨相)·체상(體相)수상(手相)·미상(眉相)·비상(鼻相)·구상(口相)·이상(耳相)·흉상(胸相)·족상(足相)·체모상(體毛相)·보행상(步行相)·음성상(音聲相)·찰색(察色)”등은 물론 심상(心相)까지도 입체적·종합적으로 다루어 다가올 미래의 운명재수(運命財數)와 길흉화복(吉凶禍福)을 가늠하고 판단해야 옳다.
사람의 얼굴·면부(面部)·안면(顔面)의 생김새(形相)와 찰색(察色)만으로 판단하면 적중률이 50% 정도에 머무를 수밖에 없다. 예컨대 물형관상법만으로 한계가 있어 관상의 예측적중률 현저히 낮아 관상 예측적중률 높일 수 없다. 그래서 관상의 예측적중률 90% 이상 높이기 위해서는 “물형관상법(20%)+오행관상법(20%)+찰색관상법(20%)+음성관상법(10%)+체모관상법(10%)+보행관상법(10%)+서체관상법(10%)”의 적용할 비중을 감안해 종합적으로 판단하여야 한다.
