황남동 고분군의 역사적 가치와 자연경관을 배경으로 열리는 이번 행사는 정원문화를 접목한 가을 대표 축제로 자리매김해왔으며, 올해는 추석 연휴와 공휴일이 이어지면서 전국 각지에서 많은 관람객이 찾을 것으로 기대된다.
행사장은 ‘경주초롱정원’ 등 주제정원과 도시원예텃밭정원, 시민사진정원 콘테스트로 꾸며진 시민참여정원 등으로 다채롭게 구성된다. 또한 풍선 만들기, 페이스페인팅, 화분 만들기 등 남녀노소 누구나 즐길 수 있는 체험 프로그램이 운영된다.
개막식은 10월 4일 오후 6시에 열리며, 인칸토솔리스트앙상블의 식전 공연과 전시물 개막 퍼포먼스가 진행된다. 이어 2025 APEC 정상회의 개최를 기념하는 드론 라이트쇼가 펼쳐져 가을밤 경주의 야경과 어우러진 특별한 볼거리를 선사할 예정이다.
주낙영 경주시장은 “황금정원 나들이는 경주의 자연과 문화를 색다르게 즐길 수 있는 대표 축제”라며 “가족과 친구, 연인과 함께 가을 정취를 만끽하길 바란다”고 말했다.
