세종시가 다가오는 추석 연휴 기간 발생할 수 있는 쓰레기 대란을 예방하기 위해 오는 25일부터 10월 10일까지 ‘2025년 추석 연휴 쓰레기 관리대책’을 시행한다고 밝혔다.
세종시는 귀성객과 시민 모두가 쾌적한 명절을 보낼 수 있도록 환경정화활동과 생활쓰레기 관리에 총력을 기울이기로 했다.
이에 따라 25일부터는 시 전역에서 특별 환경정화활동을 전개하고, 과대포장 선물세트나 무단투기 행위에 대해서는 집중 단속이 이뤄진다. 음식물쓰레기 감량과 재활용품 분리배출을 유도하기 위한 홍보 활동도 병행된다.
생활쓰레기 수거 일정에도 일부 조정이 이뤄진다. 시는 10월 3일과 4일에는 정상적으로 수거를 실시하나, 추석 당일인 10월 6일과 그 전날인 5일은 수거를 중단한다. 연휴가 끝나는 7일부터는 수거가 재개되어 시민 불편을 최소화한다는 방침이다. 자동크린넷은 추석 당일 하루만 가동을 멈춘다.
또한 연휴 기간 동안 발생할 수 있는 쓰레기 불편 민원에 신속히 대응하기 위해 전담 상황실과 기동처리반을 운영해 깨끗한 도시 환경 유지에 만전을 기할 계획이다.
