충남 서산시가 오는 26일부터 27일까지 해미읍성전통시장에서 색다른 야시장 축제 ‘햄이있성 야시장’을 연다고 밝혔다.
‘해미’와 ‘햄’을 결합한 이름처럼 이번 야시장은 해미읍성의 역사적 공간에서 특색 있는 먹거리와 체험이 어우러지는 이색 행사로 꾸며진다. 서산시는 지난 1월 중소벤처기업부 ‘문화관광형시장 육성사업’ 공모에 선정돼 확보한 국비 4억 원 중 일부를 활용해 이번 행사를 마련했다.
행사 첫날인 26일은 개막식을 시작으로 다양한 축하공연이 펼쳐지며, 시장 내에는 먹거리 부스 20개와 플리마켓 30여 팀이 참가해 풍성한 먹거리와 다양한 볼거리를 선보인다. 특히 일부 상인들은 외식 전문가로부터 전수받은 햄 요리 레시피를 활용해 새로운 메뉴를 선보이며 방문객의 미각을 사로잡을 예정이다.
체험 프로그램도 마련됐다. 가족 단위 방문객은 ‘햄슈팅 챌린지’와 ‘수제 햄 만들기’ 같은 참여형 이벤트에 직접 나설 수 있으며, 해미읍성축제와 연계한 스탬프 투어, 영수증 인증 방식의 ‘소원종 이벤트’도 진행돼 관광객과 지역 주민이 함께 즐길 수 있도록 했다.
서산시는 “해미읍성이라는 역사문화 관광지와 전통시장이 어우러진 이번 야시장이 지역 상권 활성화와 관광객 유치에 크게 기여할 것으로 기대한다”며 시민과 방문객들의 많은 관심을 당부했다.
