신용보증기금(이사장 최원목)이 금융위원회로부터 ‘녹색인증 평가기관’으로 공식 지정됐다. 이번 지정으로 신보는 중소기업의 저탄소 전환과 녹색금융 확산을 적극 뒷받침하게 된다.
녹색인증 평가는 ‘탄소중립기본법’에 따라 기술·제품이 저탄소·친환경적 가치에 부합하는지를 심사하는 제도로, 인증을 받은 기업은 정책자금 우선지원, 공공구매 우대 등 다양한 혜택을 누릴 수 있다.
신용보증기금은 녹색인증 기업에 대해 ▲보증한도 우대 ▲보증비율 90% 적용 ▲보증료 최대 0.5%p 인하 ▲ESG컨설팅 지원 등 맞춤형 금융·비금융 지원을 강화할 계획이다.
앞서 신용보증기금은 ‘그린파이낸스 마스터플랜’을 수립해 녹색자산유동화증권(G-ABS) 도입, 녹색공정전환보증·녹색벤처기업특례보증 등 다양한 제도를 마련했다. 지난해에는 총 11조 원 규모의 녹색금융을 지원했고, 올해 상반기에도 6조 원 이상을 집행했다.
신용보증기금 관계자는 “이번 지정은 중소기업의 녹색경영을 촉진하고 탄소중립 전환을 지원하는 계기가 될 것”이라며 “녹색금융 전문성을 바탕으로 기업의 지속 가능한 성장을 적극 지원하겠다”고 말했다.
Korea Credit Guarantee Fund Strengthens ESG Support for SMEs with Green Certification Authority
The Korea Credit Guarantee Fund (KODIT), led by Chairman Choi Won-mok, has been officially designated by the Financial Services Commission as a 'Green Certification Assessment Institution.' This designation positions KODIT to actively support the low-carbon transition and expansion of green finance for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
Key Role in Carbon Neutrality Finance
The Green Certification assessment system, established under the Framework Act on Carbon Neutrality and Green Growth, evaluates whether a company's technology or products align with low-carbon and eco-friendly values. Companies that obtain this certification can receive various benefits, including priority support for policy funds and preferential treatment in public procurement.
Enhanced Financial and Non-Financial Support
KODIT plans to strengthen its customized financial and non-financial support for Green Certified companies:
Credit Guarantee Limit: Preferential treatment for guarantee limits.
Guarantee Ratio: Application of a 90% guarantee ratio.
Guarantee Fee: Reduction of the guarantee fee by up to 0.5%p.
Consulting: Provision of ESG consulting support.
Leading Green Finance Initiatives
Prior to this designation, KODIT established a 'Green Finance Master Plan,' introducing various schemes such as Green Asset-Backed Securities (G-ABS), and specialized guarantees like the Green Process Transition Guarantee and the Green Venture Company Special Guarantee.
KODIT provided a total of 11 trillion won in green finance support last year.
It has executed over 6 trillion won in support during the first half of this year.
A KODIT official stated, "This designation will serve as a momentum to promote green management among SMEs and support their transition to carbon neutrality. We will actively support the sustainable growth of companies based on our expertise in green finance."
