브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 젊은 층에 큰 인기를 끌고 있는 떡볶이 프랜차이즈 가운데 ‘동대문엽기떡볶이’가 최근 5년간 식품위생법 위반 적발 건수 1위를 기록한 것으로 나타났다.
국회 보건복지위원회 소속 장종태 더불어민주당 의원(대전 서구갑)이 식품의약품안전처로부터 제출받은 자료에 따르면, 2020년부터 2025년까지 매장 수 상위 5개 떡볶이 프랜차이즈의 식품위생법 위반 건수는 총 297건에 달했다.
업체별 위반 현황을 보면, 동대문엽기떡볶이가 90건(30.3%)으로 가장 많았으며, 신전떡볶이가 89건(30.0%)으로 뒤를 이었다. 이어 청년다방 54건(18.2%), 배떡 42건(14.1%), 우리할매떡볶이 22건(7.4%) 순이었다.
정 의원실은 상위 두 업체가 전체 위반의 60%를 차지한데 대해, 업계 전반의 식품안전 관리 상태가 부실하다는 반증이라고 비판했다.
연도별로는 2020년 52건에서 2021년 40건으로 줄었다가 2022년 71건으로 급증했고, 이후 2023년 68건, 2024년 49건으로 등락을 반복했다. 특히 2022년에는 전년 대비 78%나 증가하며 관리 부실이 심각하다는 지적이 나온다.
위반 유형을 살펴보면 ‘기준 및 규격 위반’이 110건(37.0%)으로 가장 많았고, ‘위생교육 미이수’가 93건(31.3%)으로 뒤를 이었다. 이 두 항목만으로 전체 위반의 68.4%를 차지했다. 이어 건강진단 미실시 40건, 위생적 취급 기준 위반 38건 등이 있었다.
업체별로는 동대문엽기떡볶이의 경우 기준 및 규격 위반이 59건(65.6%)으로 압도적으로 많았으며, 신전떡볶이는 기준 및 규격 위반과 위생교육 미이수가 각각 26건(29.2%)으로 동일했다. 청년다방은 위생교육 미이수가 20건(37.0%)으로 가장 큰 비중을 차지했다.
장종태 의원은 “젊은 층이 자주 찾는 떡볶이 프랜차이즈에서 국민 안전을 위협하는 위생법 위반이 반복되고 있어 우려스럽다”며 “프랜차이즈 본사는 가맹점 위생교육을 의무화하고, 식약처는 정기적인 점검을 통해 안전한 먹거리를 보장해야 한다”고 강조했다.
