대만스카우트연맹은 스카우트 운동이 없는 중국을 대신해 중화권을 대표하는 단체다. 연맹 측은 "이번 수여는 한국스카우트연맹이 그동안 꾸준히 펼쳐온 국제 교류 활동, 특히 한·중·일 동북아시아 지역 청소년 간의 활발한 교류를 통해 스카우트 운동의 국제적 위상을 높이고, 청소년들이 글로벌 시민으로 성장하도록 기여한 공로를 인정한 것"이라고 수상 배경을 밝혔다.

한국스카우트연맹의 역할
