[브레이크뉴스=배종태 기자] 내년 지방선거를 앞두고 더불어민주당 변성완 강서구 지역위원장이 “부산탈환이 승리의 기준”이라며 부산시당위원장 출마를 공식 선언했다.
변 위원장은 14일 부산 민주당시당 당원홀에서 열린 출마 선언식에서 “부산 민주당 정부를 만들기 위해 어떤 역할을 해야 할지 깊이 고민해왔다”며 “이번 지방선거에서는 장수가 아니라 병참기지 사령관으로 서겠다”고 밝혔다.
“부산탈환으로 이재명 정부 국정성과를 시민에게”
변 위원장은 “이재명 정부의 국정운영 철학과 실력을 부산의 성과로 돌려주는 유능한 지방정부가 필요하다”며 “국민의힘 부산시는 무능의 극치를 보여주고 있는 만큼 내년 지방선거를 통해 반드시 교체해야 한다”고 강조했다.
그는 “부산 민주당은 이제 이재명 정부 국정운영의 우렁찬 엔진이 되어야 한다”며 “노무현처럼, 이재명처럼, 옳은 것이 결국 강하다는 믿음으로 ‘부산탈환’ 네 글자를 가슴에 새기겠다”고 말했다.
부산탈환 5대 전략 과제 발표
변 후보는 지방선거 승리를 위한 ▲당원 주권 확대▲‘부산탈환시민연대’(가칭) 결성 ▲‘해양수도 부산 완성 프로젝트’ 추진 ▲시민 속으로 파고드는 ‘부산형 민주당’ 구축 ▲공정하고 신뢰받는 공천관리 제도화(공천 3원칙) 등의 5대 전략 과제를 제시했다.
그는 당원 주권 강화를 위해 당원 참여 선거준비위원회 발족과 시민연대 조직화, 부산 GOTV(Get Out The Vote) 네트워크, 민주당 데이터플랫폼 구축, ‘민주114 캠페인’(1일 내 회신·1회 이상 만남·48시간 내 협의 착수) 등을 추진하겠다고 밝혔다.
“부산 민주당, 빚을 갚을 때”
변 위원장은 “부산 민주당은 이겨야 할 의무가 있다”며 “과거 숱한 선거에서 기대를 모으고도 마지막 순간에 주저앉아 국민과 당원들에게 허탈감을 안겼다. 그 빚을 이번 지방선거에서 반드시 털어내겠다”고 말했다.
이어 “당원 지지가 부족했던 과거를 성찰하며 이제는 뒤에서 받치고 그늘에서 지키는 자리를 택했다”며 “좋은 후보를 발굴하고 성장시키는 병참기지 사령관으로서 민주당 승리를 설계하겠다”고 각오를 다졌다.
