【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=대구시교육청은 신당중학교 폐교 건물을 활용한 한국어교육센터에서 제3기 위탁교육을 시작했다고 15일 밝혔다.
한국어교육센터는 한국어와 한국 문화에 대한 사전 준비 없이 입학한 이주배경학생들의 안정적 공교육 적응을 돕는 전문 교육기관이다.
이번 3기 교육에는 8개국 출신 학생 16명이 참여하며, 내년 1월 2일까지 12주간 한국어 학습과 학교 적응 교육을 받는다.
센터는 초등 1학년부터 고등 1학년까지 학생 최대 30명을 대상으로 하루 6시간, 12주 과정으로 운영한다. 교육과정은 한국어 240차시와 창의적 체험활동 120차시로 구성돼, 생활·언어·교과 학습과 체험, 놀이, 스포츠, 미술, 음악 활동을 병행한다.
13일 진행된 입소식에서는 학부모와 학생이 함께 센터와 교육과정 운영 방향을 안내받고, 지역사회 연계 기관을 둘러보는 시간을 가졌다. 학생들은 생활 규칙 안내와 함께 담당교사와 만나 소속감을 다지는 시간을 가졌다.
강은희 교육감은 “센터가 학생들의 학교생활 적응과 자신감 형성의 발판이 되길 바라며, 학부모가 한국 학교문화와 자녀 성장 과정을 이해하고 지원할 수 있는 기회가 되길 기대한다”고 말했다.

The Daegu Metropolitan Office of Education announced on the 15th that it has begun its third term of commissioned education at the Korean Language Education Center, located in the former Shindang Middle School building.

At the orientation ceremony held on the 13th, parents and students were introduced to the center and its curriculum, and were given a tour of local community organizations. Students were briefed on the school's rules and met with their teachers to build a sense of belonging. Superintendent Kang Eun-hee said, "I hope the center will serve as a stepping stone for students to adapt to school life and build confidence. I also hope it will provide an opportunity for parents to understand and support Korean school culture and their children's development."
