[브레이크뉴스=김완영 기자] 올해 6·25전쟁 75주년을 맞아 대한민국과 필리핀의 혈맹 관계를 기리는 ‘2025 CALL HERO 필리핀 참전영웅 호명 추모식’이 지난 10월 19일 오후 2시, 고양특례시 필리핀참전기념탑공원에서 엄숙하게 거행됐다.
이번 행사는 보국영웅 CALL HERO 중앙회와 (사)포럼케이비전이 공동 주관하고, 고양특례시와 주한 필리핀대사관이 후원했다.
‘이름을 부르며, 평화의 가치를 새기다’를 주제로 열린 추모식에는 권오을 국가보훈부 장관, 이동환 고양특례시장, 주한 필리핀 영사, 김성수 (사)포럼케이비전 대표, 필리핀 참전용사 유가족 대표단, 보훈단체 회원, 시민 등 200여 명이 참석해 참전 영웅들의 숭고한 희생을 기렸다.

행사의 주요 순서인 ‘호명 추모(Call Hero)’에서는 6·25전쟁에서 전사한 필리핀 참전용사 142명의 이름이 한 명씩 낭독됐다. 제전위원단은 이름을 부를 때마다 분향과 묵념으로 감사와 추모의 뜻을 전하며, 전우애와 우정으로 맺어진 양국의 인연을 되새겼다.
(사)포럼케이비전 최영호 경기북부지부장은 개회사를 통해 “한 번도 와본 적 없는 낯선 땅에서 자유를 위해 피 흘린 필리핀 용사들의 희생은 오늘날 대한민국 평화와 번영의 초석이 되었다”며 “그들의 이름을 부르는 이 행사는 영원히 잊지 않겠다는 우리의 맹세이자 한·필리핀 혈맹의 상징”이라고 강조했다.
이날 추모식에서 국가보훈부 권오을 장관은 6·25전쟁 당시 필리핀이 아시아 국가 중 가장 먼저 한국을 지원하고 참전한 사실을 언급하며, “6·25전쟁 당시 가장 먼저 참전해준 필리핀군의 숭고한 희생에 마음 깊이 감사드리며, 그 고마움을 결코 잊어서는 안 됩니다.”라고 추모사를 통해 전했다.
권 장관은 이어 “양국의 혈맹으로 이어진 우정이 오늘날에도 굳건히 이어지고 있으며, 앞으로도 자유와 평화를 위한 협력의 기반이 되길 바란다.”고 강조했다.
김성수 (주)포럼케이비전 대표는 “이 추모식은 단순한 행사가 아니라 대한민국과 필리핀이 맺은 영원한 혈맹의 서약을 다시 새기는 자리”라며 “영웅들의 희생이 양국의 우정과 국제협력의 초석이 될 것”이라고 말했다.
행사 마지막 순서로는 한국 거주 필리핀 여성들로 구성된 ‘판타스틱 피노이(Fantastic Pinoe)’의 추모공연이 이어졌다. 참전 영웅을 기리는 노래가 울려 퍼지자 시민들은 뜨거운 박수로 화답했다.
한편, 보국영웅 CALL HERO 중앙회와 (사)포럼케이비전은 필리핀 참전용사 유가족과 지속적인 한·필 양국 간의 우정과 교류를 이어갈 계획이다.
