브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 김경 서울특별시의회 의원은 '1800만원 당비 대납' 의혹을 제기한 진종오 국민의힘 의원 주장에 대해 "당비 대납을 언급하거나 지시, 암시한 사실이 없다"고 반박했다.
앞서 진종오 의원은 지난 9월 30일 국회에서 제보자로부터 입수한 녹취록을 폭로하며 "김경 서울시의원이 내년에 있을 민주당 경선에서 김민석 총리를 밀어주기 위해 종교단체 신도 3000명의 명단 확보를 시도하고, 투표권이 있는 당원으로 만들기 위해 1800만원 당비 대납을 회유하고, 수기로 당원 가입을 받은 것 처럼 조작하려 했던 의혹이 있다"고 주장했다.
진 의원은 "저희가 자체적으로 다 해드리겠다", "김민석으로 가시죠", "당비 1,800만원"에 대해 "확실히 지급할 수 있죠"라고 회유했던 녹취 내용의 일부를 공개하며 김 시의원의 해명을 촉구했다.
이와 관련 김경 시의원은 22일 언론사에 보낸 해명자료를 통해 "저는 당비 대납을 언급하거나 지시, 암시한 사실이 없다"면서 "일부 기사에서 김경 시의원이 직접 당비를 대납하겠다고 "발언했다", "회유했다", "시도했다", "암시했다"는 표현을 사용한 것이 사실관계에 대한 오해를 불러일으킨 것"이라고 반박했다.
이어 '김경 시의원이 당비 1800만원을 대납하겠다고 말했다'는 표현에 대해선 "제가 한 게 아닌 제3자의 개인적 발언이었다"고 했고, 당비 대납 또는 암시하는 표현을 했다는데 대해서도 "녹취 내용 어디에도 대납 의사를 밝힌 부분은 확인되지 않았다"고 설명했다.
또한 '제 개인적으로 나가는 거니까 전혀 문제될 게 없다'는 발언을 했다는데 대해서도 "이같은 발언은 제3자의 음성으로 확인됐다"면서 이 발언 역시 자신이 한 게 아니라고 지적했다.
그러면서 "당비 대납을 언급하거나 시도한 사실이 없으며 사실과 다른 보도로 인해 부당한 피해를 입고 있다"고 덧붙였다.
한편, 김경 서울시의원 진종오 의원의 의혹제기 직후 민주당을 탈당했으며 진 의원을 허위사실에 의한 명예훼손 혐의 등으로 경찰에 맞고소한 상태다.
민주당도 지난 2일 김경 서울시의원에게 제명 처분에 해당하는 징계 사유를 확인했다고 밝히기도 했다.
김한나 민주당 서울시당 윤리심판위원은 지난 2일 국회에서 기자회견을 열고 "민주당 서울시당 윤리심판원은 김경 시의원에게 제명 처분에 해당하는 징계 사유가 있음을 확인하는 결정을 내렸다"며 "서울시당은 소속 당원들에 대한 전수 조사를 진행 중이며, 특정 종교 단체의 대규모 집단 입당은 발견되지 않았다"고 했다.
이어 "진종오 의원이 언급한 제보 당사자 역시 '입당을 실행에 옮긴 바 없다'고 언론 인터뷰를 통해 밝힌 바 있다"면서 "또한 녹취가 이뤄진 시점은 경선 선거권 행사를 위한 입당 시한 마감에 임박한 시기로, 입당 심사 처리 및 심사 기간을 고려할 때 시기적으로 집단 입당 실현은 불가능하다"고 말했다.
그러면서 "김 시의원 추천 당원들과 관련된 서류들을 조사하는 과정에서 당헌·당규에 위반한 사례들을 확인했다"며 "김 시의원은 차기 지방선거에 영등포구청장 선거에 출마하고자 이 같은 당무 방해 행위를 한 것으로 보인다. 김 시의원의 일탈 행위로 심려를 끼쳐 모든 국민들께 송구스럽다"고 했다.
아울러 김 시의원 추천으로 입당한 당원들은 지난달 30일 입당 무효 처리됐다고 전했다.
