충남 태안의 대표 가을 축제인 ‘꽃과 바다 태안국화축제’가 10월 31일부터 11월 9일까지 원북면 반계리 옥파 이종일 선생 생가지 일원에서 개최된다.
올해 축제는 ‘꽃과 바다, 그리고 사람’을 주제로 다양한 국화 작품 전시와 고즈넉한 연꽃 정원, 국화 조형물 등 태안의 자연미와 예술성이 어우러진 힐링 공간을 제공한다.
축제장에는 고요한 이종일 생가지 풍경과 어울리는 국화 작품이 곳곳을 수놓으며, 밤 9시까지 야간에도 개장돼 낮과 밤 서로 다른 정원을 즐길 수 있다.
개막식은 10월 31일 오후 3시부터 진행되며, 심신·남궁옥분·하유비 등 초대가수 공연으로 축제 분위기를 더한다. 8개 읍면 주민들이 주인공이 되는 ‘읍면의 날’도 마련돼 주민자치 공연과 다양한 체험행사가 이어진다.
태안군 관계자는 “이번 국화축제가 태안의 가을 정취와 독립운동가의 정신을 함께 느낄 수 있는 가족·체험형 문화 축제”라며 “더 많은 방문객들이 아름다운 국화와 바다 풍경 속에서 특별한 가을 추억을 남기길 바란다”고 전했다.
