도널드 트럼프 미국 대통령이 28일 아시아 순방 두 번째 방문지 일본에서 열린 미·일 정상회담에서 "우리는 무역(미·일 교역)을 매우 높이 평가하며 거대한 교역을 함께 할 것"이라고 밝혔다.
일본 '교도 통신' 등에 따르면 트럼프 대통령은 이날 도쿄 모토아카사카 영빈관에서 열린 다카이치 사나에 신임 일본 총리와의 첫 정상회담 모두 발언에서 자신과 일본 전임 총리(이시바 시게루) 간 타결한 미·일 무역합의를 거론하며 "매우 공정한 합의"라며 이같이 전했다.
그러면서 "우리는 막 새로운 합의에 서명하고 있다"며 "이는 매우 공정한 합의로 일본의 미국 시장 진출을 환영한다"고 밝혔다.
