최민호 세종시장은 29일 서울에서 개최된 ‘제3회 한중지사성장회의’에 참석해 한중 양국 지방정부 간 협력과 우의를 다졌다고 밝혔다.
세종시에 따르면 이번 한중지사성장회의는 대한민국시도지사협의회와 중국인민대외우호협회가 공동 주최했다.
회의에 참석한 중국 지자체는 장시성(江西省), 상하이시(上海市), 랴오닝성(辽宁省), 헤이룽장성(黑龍江省), 신장위구르자치구(新疆维吾尔自治区) 등 5곳이다.
한국은 세종시를 포함해 인천광역시, 광주광역시, 전라남도, 제주특별자치도, 서울특별시(부시장) 등 6곳이 참여했다.
최민호 시장은 이번 회의 세션에서 세종시 출범 배경과 행정수도 완성 계획, 스마트시티·정원도시와 관련한 발표를 통해 시의 미래 전략과 비전을 적극적으로 소개했다.
최민호 시장은 “한중 지방정부 간 교류와 협력이 다가오는 APEC 계기 한중정상회담을 통해서도 순풍이 불기를 기대한다”고 말했다.
이날 최 시장의 발표 외에도 한중 각각 도시들의 특장점 소개와 도시 발전 현황 등을 소개하는 자리가 이어져 도시 간 상호 이해를 높이고 우수사례를 공유하는 시간을 가졌다.
회의 세션 종료 후에는 각 도시의 시장과 부시장, 부성장 및 부주석 등 참석자 전체가 한중 공동발표문에 서명하며 미래 발전을 위해 새로운 협력 체계를 구축하자고 뜻을 모았다.
시는 앞으로도 해외 지방정부들과 발전 방향을 모색하는 시간을 적극적으로 가지며 국제적 위상을 강화해 나간다는 계획이다.
한편, 시는 중국 샨시성(陕西省)과 구이저우성(贵州省) 간 우호도시협약을 맺고 체육, 청소년, 예술, 인적교류 등 다양한 협력사업을 추진하고 있다.

Following the conclusion of the session, all attendees, including the mayors, vice mayors, vice governors, and vice presidents of each city, signed a joint statement, agreeing to establish a new cooperative framework for future development.
The city plans to continue to actively explore development directions with local governments overseas and strengthen its international standing.
Meanwhile, the city signed a sister city agreement with China's Shaanxi and Guizhou provinces and is pursuing various cooperative projects in areas such as sports, youth, arts, and personnel exchange.
