충청남도와 서산시가 서산 예천지구 공영주차장·초록광장 조성사업의 원활한 추진을 위해 협력 의지를 재확인했다.
김태흠 충남도지사는 10월 29일 민선 8기 4년차를 맞아 서산시를 방문, 시청 중회의실에서 열린 언론인 간담회에서 해당 사업에 대한 도비 지원 계획을 다시 한번 명확히 밝혔다.
이날 간담회에는 김 도지사와 이완섭 서산시장, 지역 언론인 등 50여 명이 참석했으며, 김 도지사는 “예천지구 공영주차장과 초록광장이 내년 준공을 목표로 추진 중인 것으로 알고 있다”며 “사업이 차질 없이 마무리될 수 있도록 충남도가 적극 지원하겠다”고 말했다.
서산시에 따르면 김 도지사는 지난해 9월 서산 방문 당시에도 동일 사업에 대한 도비 지원을 약속한 바 있으며, 이번 발언을 통해 도의 지원 의지를 재차 확약했다.
예천지구 공영주차장·초록광장 조성사업은 서산시 예천동 1255-1번지 일원 1만1609.5제곱미터 부지에 총사업비 260억 원을 투입해 430면 규모의 공영주차장과 옥상 초록광장을 조성하는 사업이다. 지난 8월 8일 착공해 내년 상반기 공영주차장 임시 개방, 하반기 최종 준공을 목표로 속도를 내고 있다.
서산시는 올해 도비 50억 원을 확보했으며, 내년에는 충남도의 주차환경개선지원사업을 통해 추가 50억 원을 지원받아 총 100억 원 규모의 도비를 투입할 계획이다.
