이재명 대통령이 '2025 경주 APEC(아시아태평양경제협력체)' 계기 시진핑 중국 국가주석 방한 관련해 "시 주석과 함께 한·중 수교 이후 내외 환경 격변 상황에서 전략적 협력 동반자 관계의 성숙 발전의 지속 추동 방안을 모색할 것"이라고 밝혔다.
이 대통령은 29일(현지시간) 공개된 중국 '신화 통신' 서면 인터뷰에서 "(시 주석과 한국 새 정부 간 첫 정상회담이) "양자 층위에서도 특별한 의의를 갖는다"며 이같이 전했다.
그러면서 "양국이 민생 영역 실무 협력을 강화하는 구체적 방안을 심도 있게 논의하고 양국 경제·무역 협력 협상 채널을 확장하겠다"며 "한·중 자유무역협정(FTA) 서비스 투자 영역 협상 실무 진전을 가속해 경제·무역 협력의 새 제도적 기초를 만들길 기대한다"고 했다.
또 "오늘날 중국은 여전히 한국 최대 교역국이자 공급망 안정을 위한 핵심 파트너로 양국은 향후 산업·공급망 협력을 강화해 나가는 것에 공감대를 갖고 있다"며 "이번 APEC 정상회의를 계기로 시 주석과 이에 대해 심도 있는 논의를 진행하길 바란다"고 했다.
이어 "최근 중국 산업 경쟁력·첨단기술 능력이 크게 향상되면서 양국 기업 간 경쟁이 부각되고 있다"며 "그러나 이럴 때일수록 지혜를 모아 선의 경쟁·수평적 협력'에 기반해 전략적 협력 동반자 관계를 성숙하게 발전시킬 수 있을 것"이라고 했다.
더불어 "중국과 한반도 평화·안정이 한중 양국 공동 이익에 부합한다는 공동 인식을 기초로 양국 전략적 소통을 강화하고, 한반도 비핵화·평화를 실현할 것"이라며 "평화 문제에서 한반도 핵 문제의 실질적 해결과 한반도 평화 구축을 위해 중국이 건설적 역할을 발휘하길 절실히 필요로 한다"고 덧붙였다.
이 대통령은 "중국이 올해 APEC 회의 의제 인공지능(AI) 혁신·인구 구조 변화에 대한 논의를 내년에 더 발전시킬 수 있도록 지원하겠다"고 했다.
