‘국유림 명품 숲’으로 선정된 영양 자작나무숲은 축구장 40개 규모로 전국에서 가장 큰 자작나무 숲으로, 가족 단위 방문객과 초보 산악인에게 인기 있는 트래킹 코스로 주목받고 있다.
숲 내 1코스 1.49km, 2코스 1.52km의 완만한 경사 등산로를 따라 올라가면 고도 800m 이상의 전망대에서 숲 전경을 조망할 수 있다. 하얀 수피 사이로 물든 단풍이 어우러져 색다른 경관을 선사한다.
