충남 서산시가 내년 6월 서해안 대표 관광도시로의 도약을 향한 큰 발걸음을 내딛는다.
서산시는 13일 롯데관광개발㈜ 서울지점에서 ‘2026년 서산 모항 국제 크루즈 운항 협약’을 체결하며, 내년 6월 대산항에서 ‘코스타세레나호’의 출항을 확정했다.
이번 협약으로 서산시는 2024년부터 3년 연속 국제 크루즈 유치에 성공하게 됐다. 국제 크루즈의 정기적인 기항은 항만 인프라 개선, 관광 인력 수요 증가, 지역 농수산품 소비 확대 등 다방면의 경제적 파급효과가 기대된다.
6박 7일 일정의 코스타세레나호는 2026년 6월 13일 대산항에서 출항해 일본 오키나와와 대만 기륭을 거쳐 6월 19일 부산항에 입항한다.
오키나와에서는 1박 2일 머무르며 주야간 관광 일정을 진행한다. 서산시는 크루즈 관광객과 외국인 승무원 유입에 따라 숙박·식음료·교통·기념품 소비가 활성화될 것으로 보고 있다.
