파주시 한울도서관은 오는 19일과 26일 양일간, 발달장애 청년들을 대상으로 그림책 읽기와 병행한 목공 수업을 운영한다고 밝혔다.

한울도서관의 장애 특화 기관 연계 사업의 일환으로 진행되는 이번 프로그램은 협약기관인 더메이크사회적협동조합 파주지회와 협력해 기획되었다.
에너지가 왕성한 발달장애 청년들에게 신체활동과 책 읽기를 병행하는 활동을 통해 감각과 정서가 통합된 즐거운 독서 경험을 제공하는 것이 목표다.
‘책 읽는 목공’은 총 2차시로 진행된다. 1차시에는 그림책 「어린 왕자」를 함께 읽고 칼림바를 제작하며, 2차시에는 「수상한 아저씨의 뚝딱 목공소」를 읽은 후 나무 확성기(우드 스피커) 만들기를 진행한다.
참가자들은 시각(그림책), 촉각(목공), 청각(칼림바·나무 확성기)이 연결된 활동을 경험하며 몰입과 성취감을 느낄 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.
이재면 교하도서관장은 “이번 프로그램을 통해 포용적 도서관 이미지를 확산하고 장애인의 도서관 이용을 활성화하는 한편, 협약기관의 수요를 반영한 맞춤형 프로그램 제공으로 특화 서비스의 기반을 강화해 나가길 기대한다”라고 밝혔다.
