【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=대구이룸고등학교(교장 정윤향)가 전국 공립학교 가운데 최초로 ‘특성화 특수학교’로 지정됐다.
장애학생을 위한 직업 분야 인재 양성을 목표로 한 이번 지정은, 최근 개정된 ‘장애인 등에 대한 특수교육법’(제28조의2)에 따라 대구시교육청이 21일 공식 고시했다.
이번 지정에 따라 이룸고는 오는 2027학년도 신입생부터 학교장이 직접 학생을 선발하는 체제로 전환한다.
기존에는 학생들이 거주지에 따라 배정됐지만 앞으로는 학생의 직업 적성, 희망 분야, 교육과정 적합성 등 다양한 요소를 고려해 맞춤형 선발이 이뤄진다.
2027학년도 신입생 모집은 2026년 5월 면접과 실기 평가를 통해 실시할 계획이다. 학교 설명회는 같은 해 3월과 4월 두 차례에 걸쳐 진행될 예정이다.
이룸고는 2022년 전국 최초 장애학생 직업중점 고등학교로 문을 열었다. 이후 드론, 3D프린터 제품 제작, 바리스타, 제과제빵 등 NCS 기반 실무 중심 직업교육을 중심으로 교육과정을 강화해 왔다.
특히 고3 학생을 중심으로 지역 산업체와 연계한 현장실습 프로그램을 운영하며, 졸업 이후 취업까지 이어지는 지원 체계도 갖추고 있다.
특성화 특수학교로 공식 지정되면서 이룸고는 앞으로 △전공 분야 심화 교과 확대 △맞춤형 직업훈련 강화 △학교-지역사회-산업계가 연계된 통합형 직업교육 모델 구축 등을 본격화할 예정이다. 이를 통해 학생들의 진로 설계와 고용 연계에 힘을 싣고, 지역과 함께 성장하는 직업교육 선도학교로 자리매김한다는 계획이다.
정윤향 교장은 “이번 지정은 장애학생의 삶 중심 교육 혁신을 인정받은 것”이라며 “학생들이 당당한 직업인으로 성장할 수 있도록 최고의 교육 환경을 만들겠다”고 말했다.
