이재명 대통령이 22일(현지시간) 남아프리카공화국 G20(주요20개국) 정상회의에서 "이대로 격차·불균형이 심화되면 이웃은 물론 우리들 각자 미래조차 장담할 수 없게 된다"고 밝혔다.
이 대통령은 이날 정오께 요하네스버그 엑스포 센터 G20 정상회의장에서 '누구도 소외되지 않은 포용적 지속가능성' 주제로 열린 1세션 모두 발언에서 "지금 전 세계가 저성장·불균형 등 복합 경제 위기에 직면해있다"며 이같이 말했다.
그러면서 "미래로 나아가기 위해 성장 잠재력이 큰 분야에 자원을 집중 분배해 부를 창출하고 부채 비율을 줄이는 선순환 구조를 만들어야 한다"며 "개도국 경제는 과도한 부채 부담 때문에 성장 투자 여력이 제한돼 지속 가능한 성장 동력이 약화되고 있어 해결을 위해 부채 지속가능성 강화 노력을 멈추지 말아야 한다"고 했다.
또 "성장 잠재력 제고를 위해 예측 가능한 무역 투자 환경을 조성해야 한다"며 내년 아프리카서 개최되는 WTO(세계무역기구) 각료회의에서 '투자 원활화 협정'이 공식 채택될 수 있도록 노력하겠다"고 했다.
이어 "개도국 성장을 위해 개발 협력 효과를 더욱 강화해야 한다"며 "대한민국이 앞으로도 다자개발은행 개혁 노력에 적극 동참하겠다"고 밝혔다.
