고양특례시가 민간기업과 손잡고 미래농업 경쟁력 강화에 나선다.
고양시는 21일 ㈜네토그린과 '스마트농업 확대·육성을 위한 업무협약(MOU)'을 체결했다고 밝혔다.
이번 협약은 고양시의 스마트농업 정책과 민간기업의 기술력을 결합해 지역 농업의 혁신을 도모하기 위해 마련됐다.

양 기관은 스마트농업 기반 조성, 행정·제도적 협력, 스마트팜 실증 및 민간주도형 모델 확산, 지역 농업인·기업과의 상생협력 강화 등에 상호 협력하기로 했다.
스마트팜 전문기업인 네토그린은 현재 고양시 지식산업센터에서 수직형 스마트팜 2개소를 운영 중이다.
회사는 올해 10개소, 내년에는 50개소까지 단계적으로 확대할 계획이며, 과채류 중심의 대규모 스마트팜 실증시설과 생산·유통 기지도 구축할 예정이다.
이를 통해 고양시는 도심 내 스마트농업 실증공간을 지속적으로 확보하고, 스마트농업의 거점 도시로 성장할 수 있는 발판을 마련하게 됐다.

이동환 고양시장은 "네토그린이 고양시를 미래 농업의 핵심 거점으로 선택해 주신 데 깊이 감사드린다"며 "시는 이번 협약이 실질적인 성과로 이어지도록 행정적·제도적인 지원을 아끼지 않겠다"고 말했다.
고양시는 앞으로도 민간 주도의 스마트농업 투자와 도심·농촌형 실증모델을 지속적으로 확대해 스마트농업 육성정책의 핵심 축으로 삼을 계획이다.
