브레이크뉴스 문홍철 기자= 새마을금고 지역희망나눔재단은 지난 19일 서울 강남구 새마을금고중앙회 본부 MG홀에서 ‘2025 청년누리장학지원사업’ 해단식을 성황리에 개최했다고 밝혔다.
‘2025 청년누리장학지원사업’은 청년들의 주거안정을 도모하고 건강한 사회 구성원으로 발돋움할 수 있도록 새마을금고재단에서 기획한 사업이다.
새마을금고재단은 지난 5월 100명의 청년을 장학생으로 선발해 6개월간 강연, 단체봉사활동, 팀별 기획활동 등 청년들의 공동체 의식 함양 및 청년 네트워크 활성화를 위한 다양한 체험 활동을 제공했다. 장학생들에게는 매월 활동비와 미래응원장학금 등도 지급됐다.
이날 열린 해단식은 김인 새마을금고재단 이사장과 이사진, 장학생 등이 참석해 성황리에 진행됐다. 6개월간의 여정을 돌아보고, 수료증 수여 등 뜻깊은 시간을 가졌다.
해단식에서는 활동 우수 시상식도 진행됐다. 최우수팀을 비롯한 활동우수팀 및 개인(최우수/우수/장려)에게 시상금 총 210만원이 됐다. 미래응원장학금(40만원), 경품추첨 등 깜짝 이벤트도 진행됐다.
해단식에 참가한 수료 장학생은 “청년누리 장학 활동들은 단순히 금전적 지원을 넘어 사회와의 연결을 체험하게 했다”며 “장학금을 통해 생활의 무게를 조금 덜고, 스스로 도전할 수 있는 힘을 얻었다. 이 경험이 앞으로 더 큰 성장을 이끌어 줄 것 같다”고 전했다.
새마을금고재단 관계자는 “이번 해단식은 단순한 종료가 아니라 청년들이 지역과 함께한 시간을 기억하고, 미래로 나아가는 디딤돌을 다지는 자리였다”며 “앞으로도 청년들이 주체적으로 성장할 수 있도록 든든한 동반자가 되겠다”고 말했다.
한편, 새마을금고재단은 2018년부터 청년들의 주거·생활 안정과 자기성장을 지원하는 장학사업을 꾸준히 이어오고 있으며, 올해까지 800명의 장학생에게 총 19억 원을 지원했다.
올해는 ‘청년누리장학’으로 새롭게 리뉴얼해 총 100명의 청년에게 장학금과 다양한 사회공헌·네트워킹 프로그램 등으로 총 4억5000만원을 지원했다.
김인 새마을금고재단 이사장은 “청년누리 장학생들이 보여준 성장은 새마을금고재단의 가장 큰 보람이자 앞으로 우리 사회의 희망”이라며 “오늘의 해단식이 끝이 아니라 더 큰 도전을 향한 새로운 출발점이 되길 바란다”고 전했다.
