시는 이번 협약이 지역사회와 원전이 상생하는 지속가능한 발전 기반을 마련했다는 점에서 의미 있는 성과라고 평가했다.
확보된 280억 원은 보문–구정 간 도로개설 사업에 전액 투입된다. 이 사업은 향후 4년에 걸쳐 단계적으로 추진되며, 도로가 완공되면 울산에서 보문관광단지로 이동하는 소요 시간이 크게 단축될 전망이다.
현재 울산·경주 간 생활권 통합이 확산되고 있음에도 교통 인프라 부족으로 시민·관광객 이동이 불편하다는 지적이 이어져 왔다. 경주시는 신규 도로 개설이 관광 활성화와 상권 확장 등 지역 경제에 긍정적 효과를 가져올 것으로 기대하고 있다.
