이번 행사는 경상북도·경주시·한국아태경제협회가 공동 주최하고 경북경제진흥원, 중국국제무역촉진위원회(CCPIT), 한국바이오협회가 참여한 국제 비즈니스 포럼이다. 아·태 지역 외교관과 글로벌 기업 관계자 등 약 180명이 참석했다.
이틀 일정으로 진행된 이번 대회는 전날 서울에서 열린 개막식과 투자유치 선포식에 이어 진행됐다. 경주시는 “이번 행사가 APEC 개최 효과를 지역 산업 투자 유치로 전환하는 첫 단계”라고 설명했다.
행사는 양금희 경상북도 경제부지사와 주낙영 경주시장의 환영사로 시작됐다. 이어 경상북도와 경주시는 △한국아태경제협회 △한·중MICE협회와 MICE 관광객 유치를 위한 협약을 체결했다.
또한 한국의료관광진흥협회와도 외국인 환자 유치 확대를 위한 협력 체계를 구축하기로 했다.
오후 프로그램에서는 분야별 전문 포럼이 진행됐다. ‘바이오 헬스 세션’에서는 안티에이징·줄기세포 치료 기술을 주제로 발표와 토론이 이어졌다.이어 열린 ‘MICE 산업 포럼’에서는 디지털 기반의 글로벌 전시·컨벤션 산업 전략이 논의됐다.
투자 세션에서는 경주·포항·칠곡 등 경북 주요 도시의 산업 기반과 입지 여건이 소개됐다. 경주시는 홍보 영상을 통해 AI·SMR·e-모빌리티 등 미래 산업 육성 전략을 강조했다. 포항과 칠곡은 철강·소재 산업과 물류·제조 분야의 경쟁력을 제시했다.
기업 발표에는 에너지저장장치(ESS) 기업 ㈜엔다이브와 자동차 부품기업 아진산업㈜이 참여해 기술·투자 전략과 해외 확장 계획을 공유했다.
주낙영 경주시장은 “APEC 정상회의 개최는 경주가 글로벌 도시로 전환하는 분기점이 됐다”며 “이번 투자대회를 계기로 미래 산업 분야 국제 협력을 확대하겠다”고 말했다.
행사 종료 후 참석자들은 동궁과 월지, 첨성대, 월정교 등 야간 관광지 탐방 프로그램에 참여했다.
경주시는 이번 행사를 출발점으로 APEC 이후 확보한 외교·도시 브랜드 효과를 실질적 투자·경제 협력으로 연계하는 장기 전략을 추진하겠다는 계획이다.

The afternoon program featured specialized forums. The "Biohealth Session" featured presentations and discussions on anti-aging and stem cell treatment technologies. The "MICE Industry Forum" then discussed digital-based strategies for the global exhibition and convention industry.
The investment session introduced the industrial bases and locational conditions of major cities in Gyeongsangbuk-do, including Gyeongju, Pohang, and Chilgok. Gyeongju City emphasized its strategy for fostering future industries such as AI, SMR, and e-mobility through a promotional video. Pohang and Chilgok highlighted their competitiveness in the steel and materials industries, and logistics and manufacturing.
The corporate presentations included Endive Co., Ltd., an energy storage system (ESS) company, and Ajin Industrial Co., Ltd., an automotive parts company, sharing their technology and investment strategies and overseas expansion plans.
Gyeongju Mayor Joo Nak-young said, "Hosting the APEC Summit marked a turning point for Gyeongju's transformation into a global city. We will use this investment competition as an opportunity to expand international cooperation in future industries."
Following the event, attendees participated in a nighttime tour of tourist attractions such as Donggung Palace, Wolji Pond, Cheomseongdae Observatory, and Woljeonggyo Bridge.
Gyeongju City plans to use this event as a starting point to pursue a long-term strategy that will translate the diplomatic and city branding benefits gained after APEC into tangible investment and economic cooperation.
