브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 박대준 쿠팡 대표이사가 2일 고객 개인정보 유출 사고와 관련, 직장인 익명 커뮤니티 블라인드에서 제기된 'IT 인력의 절반 이상, 매니저의 90% 이상이 중국인'이라는 의혹에 대해 사실이 아니라고 밝혔다.
박 대표는 이날 국회 과학기술정보방송통신위원회의 쿠팡 침해사고 관련 현안질의에 참석, 이같은 질의에 "한국인 비율이 압도적으로 많다"며 이같이 반박했다.
다만 그는 개인정보 유출 당사자가 중국인 인지 여부에 대해선 "경찰 수사 중인 사항으로 이 자리에서 특정하는 것은 문제가 있다고 생각했다"고 즉답을 피했다.
이어 "고객 개인정보 유출로 인한 2차 피해는 아직까지 없는 것으로 안다"고 했고, 유출 정보가 범죄에 악용될 수 있다는 우려 제기엔 "죄송하다. 그러한 피해가 없도록 최선을 다하겠다"고 말했다.
최민희 위원장이 "경찰 핑계를 대며 답변을 제대로 안하면 실질 소유자인 김범석씨도 증인으로 채택할 것"이라고 경고하자, 박 대표는 "한국법인에서 일어난 일이다. 현재 이 사건에 대해 제가 전체 책임을 지고 있고 한국법인의 대표로서 끝까지 책임을 지고 사태가 수습될 수 있도록 최선의 노력을 다하겠다"고 했다.
쿠팡 창업자인 김범석 의장은 한국 쿠팡을 100% 보유한 미국 모회사 쿠팡Inc 의결권의 74.3%를 보유하고 있다.
아울러 박 대표는 답변 초기 개인정보 '유출' 대신 '노출'이라고 말해왔는데, 과방위원들이 이를 지적하자 "책임을 모면하고자 하는 의미는 아니었다"면서 "생각이 부족했었다", "책임을 회피할 생각이 없다"등의 발언을 하며 사과하기도했다.
