【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=대구 행복진흥사회서비스원이 지난 2일 대구어린이세상 다목적세미나실에서 ‘2025 대구 공공형 놀이콘텐츠 포럼’을 개최했다.
이번 포럼은 지역 내 어린이 체험공간이 늘어나는 흐름 속에서, 운영 방향을 점검하고 공공 놀이정책의 개선점을 논의하기 위해 마련됐다.
행사에는 놀이 전문가를 비롯해 현장 관계자, 시민 등 60여 명이 참석했다. 참석자들은 공공형 어린이 놀이시설의 미래 역할과 놀이콘텐츠의 발전 방향을 두고 다양한 의견을 교환했다.
포럼의 시작은 황옥경 육아정책연구소 소장의 기조강연으로 꾸며졌다. 황 소장은 아이들의 놀 권리의 중요성을 다시 한 번 짚으며, 지역사회가 갖춰야 할 정책적 방향을 제시했다.
이어 시흥시의 놀이문화 정책 사례, 민간기업의 콘텐츠 운영 경험, 그리고 숲놀이와 전통놀이를 결합한 체험교육 사례까지 다양한 현장 사례가 소개돼, 각 지역별 방식이 공유됐다. 이를 통해 대구만의 고유한 모델을 찾기 위한 논의도 이어졌다.
토론 시간에는 조맹숙 영진전문대학교 교수가 좌장을 맡고, 현장 학부모 대표와 마을공동체 관계자가 함께 참여했다. 이들은 공공형 놀이시설이 실제 현장에서 마주하는 문제점과 개선이 필요한 부분을 집중적으로 짚었다.
시민들의 목소리가 직접 논의 테이블에 오른 만큼, 이번 포럼에서 제기된 제안들이 향후 실질적인 운영 개선으로 이어질지 주목받고 있다.
배기철 대구행복진흥원 이사장은 “놀이의 힘은 결국 아이들의 성장과 행복으로 돌아온다”면서, “앞으로도 아이들이 안전하게 놀 수 있는 환경 조성에 최선을 다하겠다”고 밝혔다.
한편 대구행복진흥원은 지난 7월 동구 숙천초등학교 인근에 ‘와글와글아이세상’을 개관했다. 놀이공간, 체험실, 도서관, 소극장, 실내체육관 등 다양한 시설을 갖춘 어린이 복합문화공간으로, 가족 단위 방문객들 사이에서 호평을 얻고 있다. 내년에는 수성구 황금동에 위치한 ‘대구어린이세상’도 본격 운영에 들어갈 예정이다.
행복진흥원은 이번 포럼에서 나온 다양한 의견을 두 시설의 운영에 적극 반영하고, 앞으로도 지역 아이들이 더욱 다양한 놀이를 경험할 수 있도록 콘텐츠 확대에 박차를 가할 계획이다.

The Daegu Happiness Promotion Social Service Center held the "2025 Daegu Public Play Content Forum" on the 2nd at the Daegu Children's World Multipurpose Seminar Room.

These examples allowed for the sharing of approaches from each region. This also led to discussions on finding unique models for Daegu.
The discussion was moderated by Professor Cho Maeng-sook of Yeungjin College, and was joined by parents and community representatives. They focused on the real-world challenges faced by public play facilities and areas in need of improvement.
With citizens' voices directly represented at the forum, attention is focused on whether the suggestions raised at this forum will lead to practical operational improvements.
Bae Ki-cheol, Chairman of the Daegu Happiness Promotion Agency, stated, "The power of play ultimately translates into children's growth and happiness. We will continue to do our best to create a safe environment for children to play."
Meanwhile, the Daegu Happiness Promotion Agency opened "Waggle Waggle Kids' World" near Sukcheon Elementary School in Dong-gu in July. This multi-purpose children's cultural center, featuring a play area, experience rooms, a library, a small theater, and an indoor gymnasium, has been well-received by families. "Daegu Children's World," located in Hwanggeum-dong, Suseong-gu, is also scheduled to open for full operation next year.
The Happiness Promotion Agency plans to actively reflect the diverse opinions expressed at this forum in the operation of the two facilities and to continue to expand content so that local children can experience a wider variety of play.
