【브레이크뉴스 r경주】박영재 기자=지난 2일 국회가 정부 예산안을 최종 의결한 가운데 국민의힘 김석기 국회의원(경주시)은 경주시의 2026년도 국·도비 예산이 총 1조 1,293억 원으로 확정됐다고 3일 밝혔다. 구성은 국비 9,546억 원, 도비 1,747억 원이며, 2025년 APEC 정상회의 준비분 2,299억 원을 제외할 경우 실제 확보액은 1조 1,047억 원으로 지난해보다 246억 원 증가했다.
주요 국비 사업으로는 ▲혁신형 소형모듈원자로(SMR) 기술개발사업 636억 원 ▲문무대왕과학연구소 설립 188억 원 ▲양성자과학연구단 운영 150억 원 ▲중수로해체기술원 설립지원 75억 원 ▲SMR 제작지원센터 설립 25.4억 원 ▲방사성폐기물 분석센터 운영 24.5억 원 등이 포함됐다. 김 의원은 “경주가 원전·과학기술 도시로 성장할 기반이 마련됐다”고 밝혔다.
POST APEC 사업으로 추진되는 ▲세계경주포럼 개최 예산 21억 원도 신규 반영됐다.
2019년 제정된 ‘신라왕경 핵심유적 복원·정비 특별법’에 따른 문화유산 관련 예산도 대거 확보됐다. ▲신라왕경 핵심유적 복원·정비 251억 원 ▲신라왕경 디지털복원 90억 원 ▲문무대왕릉 성역화 24.5억 원이 반영돼 유적 복원 사업에 속도가 붙을 전망이다.
교통 인프라 분야에서는 ▲농소~외동 국도 4차로 건설 225억 원 ▲양남~감포 국도 건설 143억 원 ▲강동~안강 국지도 건설 80억 원 등이 확보됐다.
김 의원실은 이번 예산 확보 과정에서 김 의원이 기획재정부·관계 부처와 국회 예결위에 지속적으로 사업 필요성을 설명하며 증액을 이끌어냈다고 설명했다. 특히 국회 심의 단계에서 130억 원이 추가 반영된 것으로 알려졌다. 김 의원은 부처별 세부사업과 경상북도 직접투자사업까지 합산하면 최종 국·도비 규모는 더 증가할 가능성이 있다고 전했다.
김 의원은 “2025 APEC을 계기로 경주는 세계적 문화·관광·과학도시로 나아가고 있다”며 “시민들의 성원과 경주시의 행정지원 덕분에 예산 확보 성과를 거둘 수 있었다. 앞으로도 경주 발전을 위해 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.

A KRW 2.1 billion budget for the World Gyeongju Forum, a post-APEC project, has also been newly allocated.
A significant budget for cultural heritage related projects has also been secured under the "Special Act on the Restoration and Maintenance of Key Historic Sites of the Silla Royal Capital," enacted in 2019. The restoration project is expected to accelerate with the allocation of KRW 25.1 billion for the restoration and maintenance of key Silla royal capital sites, KRW 9 billion for the digital restoration of the Silla royal capital, and KRW 2.45 billion for the sacred site of King Munmu's tomb.
In the transportation infrastructure sector, KRW 22.5 billion for the construction of a four-lane Nongso-Oedong National Road, KRW 14.3 billion for the Yangnam-Gampo National Road, and KRW 8 billion for the Gangdong-Angang National Road.
Representative Kim's office explained that during the budget acquisition process, Representative Kim consistently explained the necessity of the project to the Ministry of Strategy and Finance, related ministries, and the National Assembly Budget and Accounts Committee, securing the increase. Notably, an additional KRW 13 billion was reportedly allocated during the National Assembly deliberation stage. Representative Kim stated that the final national and provincial budget could increase further when considering detailed projects by each ministry and direct investment projects by Gyeongsangbuk-do Province.
