브레이크뉴스 문홍철 기자= 현대자동차그룹은 에어리퀴드(Air Liquide)와 수소 분야 글로벌 CEO 협의체인 수소위원회(Hydrogen Council)’의 공동 의장사로서 지난 4일 수소 생태계 확대를 위한 전략적 협력을 체결했다고 5일 밝혔다.
체결식은 지난 2일부터 4일까지 3일간 서울에서 열린 수소위원회 CEO 총회 기간 중 진행됐다.
체결식에는 현대차그룹 장재훈 부회장, 에너지&수소사업본부장 켄 라미레즈(Ken Ramirez) 부사장, 에어리퀴드그룹 프랑수아 자코브(François Jackow) 회장, 수소 에너지 부문 에르윈 펜포니스(Erwin Penfornis) 부사장 등 양사 관계자들이 참석했다.
현대차그룹과 에어리퀴드는 이번 전략적 협력의 체결로 파트너십을 강화해 공동의장사로서 수소 분야 글로벌 리더십을 확고히 하고 수소 생태계 확대에 앞장선다는 계획이다.
현대차그룹과 에어리퀴드는 한국, 미국, 유럽을 수소 생태계 구축을 위한 핵심거점으로 삼고 수소의 생산부터 저장, 운송, 활용까지 수소 밸류체인의 모든 과정에서 고도화를 추진한다.
또한, 현대차그룹과 에어리퀴드는 수소 모빌리티 확대뿐 아니라 인프라 구축 및 안정적 공급망 확보를 위한 전략 실행에도 나설 예정이다.
이를 위해 현대차그룹과 에어리퀴드는 글로벌 수소 충전소 네트워크 확대 방안을 검토하고 있으며, 향후 그린 수소의 생산 및 활용 상의 안전성을 높이기 위한 다양한 기술 개발도 추진할 예정이다.

한편, 에어리퀴드는 산업과 의료 분야에서 가스를 활용한 기술과 제품, 서비스를 제공하는 프랑스 소재 글로벌 가스 기업이다. 수소 에너지 분야에서도 수소의 생산, 저장, 운송과 함께 수소충전소 제작과 설치, 운영 등 수소에너지 인프라 구축 사업을 하고 있다.
에어리퀴드는 수소위원회 CEO 총회에서 수소위원회의 신임 공동 의장사로 선정돼 현대차그룹과 함께 의장 역할을 수행할 예정이다.
현대차그룹과 에어리퀴드는 2018년부터 전략적 협력을 지속하며 국내에서는 수소 충전 인프라 구축과 운영을 위해 설립된 수소에너지네트워크(HyNet)와 코하이젠(Kohygen)의 주요 주주로 활동하고 있다.
