【충북 브레이크뉴스】김봉수 기자=증평군평생학습관이 추진하는 문해교육이 지역을 넘어 전국적인 성과로 이어지며 주목받고 있다.
기초 한글교육에 참여한 학습자들이 잇달아 전국 규모의 공모전에서 수상하며 배움의 힘을 스스로 증명한 것이다.
세계 문해의 달(9월 8일)을 기념해 매년 열리는 전국 성인문해교육 시화전에서 올해 증평 문해교육 학습자들의 활약이 두드러졌다.
구종회 학습자가 충북도지사상을 수상하는 등 시화 4점, 엽서 3점이 나란히 입상하며 지역 문해교육의 저력을 다시 한번 보여줬다.
군은 참여 작품들을 엮어 성인문해 시화집 ‘세상과 만나는 여섯 번째 이야기’를 발간했다.
작품집에는 뒤늦게 한글을 배우며 느꼈던 설렘과 배움의 기쁨 등이 담겨 있어 독자들에게 깊은 울림을 주고 있다.
또 충북인재평생교육진흥원이 주관하는 ‘알리고 싶은 우리지역이야기’그림책 공모전에서도 성과가 이어졌다.
초중 2구 경로당 정안마을 학습자들이 만든 그림책 ‘둥구나무 아래서’가 우수상을 수상했다.
해당 작품은 마을 중심에 서 있는 나무를 매개로 세대를 잇는 기억과 정서를 풀어낸 것으로, 학습자들이 직접 구상과 글쓰기, 그림 콘셉트까지 참여했다.
특히 지역 내 평생학습 동아리 ‘극단 수수팥떡’이 제작 과정에 함께하면서 지역공동체 기반의 학습 성과로 더욱 주목받았다.
심사에서는 문해교육을 통해 확장된 표현력, 창의성, 지역성 등이 높은 평가를 받은 것으로 알려졌다.
군 관계자는 “문해교육은 단순히 글을 배우는 것을 넘어 삶의 이야기를 기록하고 나누는 의미 있는 작업”이라며 “앞으로도 학습자들의 경험과 지역자원을 연결하는 다양한 콘텐츠 개발에 많은 노력을 기울이겠다”고 밝혔다.

Four poems and three postcards won awards, including Gu Jong-hoe, who won the North Chungcheong Province Governor's Award, once again demonstrating the strength of local literacy education.
