계간 시 전문지 《사이펀》 2025년 겨울호(39호)가 나왔다. 이번 겨울호에는 경기대 권성훈 교수(시인, 문학평론가)의 문학상을 주제로 한 ‘사이펀의 창’과 강은교 시인의 연재물인 ‘문학편지’가 서두에 나온다. 특히 이번호에는 지난 1년간의 우수작품을 선별한 제10회 사이펀문학상 수상자인 김재근 시인의 수상시, 신작시, 시작노트가 실린다. 그리고 신작 시집은 경북 영주의 배주열 시인과 경남 하동의 석민재 시인이다. 두 시인의 변별적 시 세계를 만나는 기쁨이 크다. 두 시인에 대한 리뷰는 박대현 평론가가 맡아주었다.
이번 호에는 경주의 김성춘 시인이 고향인 부산 영도를 찾아간다. 시인의 고향을 더듬어보는 일은 남다르다. 김성춘 시인의 고향 답사에는 보우 시인이 동행해주었다. 그리고 신작시는 박몽구 황명자 김이하 정윤천 김소영 윤일현 정이경 김은숙 정원근 강준철 정훈 류경 김미령 김명은 이두예 금지은 류흔 오유균 이담하 서금자 정지우 류미야 최경미 김세웅 김려 김도향 성미영 박경서 김종식 현이령 신동재 조휘문 김수수 이향숙 정행 최웅식 등 중견에서 신인까지 골고루 필자들이 균형을 이루고 있다. 다양한 필자들이 모인 만큼 다양한 모습의 시를 만나는 즐거움도 배가 되리라 여겨진다.

올 하반기 신인상에는 시 부문에 경남 양산의 강경숙, 경기 용인의 김느티, 동시에 김포의 김부회 씨가 당선됐다. 당선자들의 연령이 대다수 높지만 물리적으로 제한하는 것은 편견이기에 사이펀은 신경 쓰지 않기로 한다. 포엠에세이는 송연희 김희준 이방주 김나현 안병건 수필가와 김도이 시인의 산문이 담겼다. 인기연재물인 김종희 인문학자의 ‘김흥수와 마광수와 나’를 주제로 한 ‘인문산책’과 홍일표 시인의 ‘인물에세이’가 실렸으며 시집 서평은 전남 순천의 박철영 시집 『노동은 푸른 산소다』와 경남 진해의 안창섭 시집 『도시락이 돌아오는 시간』을 정훈 평론가가 기술해주셨다. 그리고 신간시집을 들여다보는 ‘시집 우체통’에는 고주희 김광명 김기연 김수 박미라 박미정 박성규 손증호 심수자 안창섭 이규열 이달균 이응인 장철문 정계원 전숙 정선우 정이랑 최정란 한영채 홍종철 시인의 시집 속 시 한 편이 실렸다.

끝으로 강민숙 시인이 티베트의 지상낙원 샹글릴라를 찾아서 예술기행이 시와 함께 실렸다. 자연의 예술품 암드륵쵸 호수와 시가체가 자랑하는 타쉬룬포 사원, 라싸에서 칭창열차로 시닝까지 하늘길을 달리는 아름다운 풍경을 소개 한다.
2026년 봄호에는 사이펀이 창간 10주년 기념호가 되기에 시인들의 설문조사 특집이 실릴 예정이다.

The quarterly poetry journal Siphon has released its Winter 2025 issue (Issue 39). This issue begins with "Syphon's Window," a piece on the literary award presented by Professor Kwon Seong-hun (poet and literary critic) of Kyonggi University, and poet Kang Eun-kyo's series, "Literary Letters." Notably, this issue features the award-winning poem, new poems, and a note from poet Kim Jae-geun, winner of the 10th Siphon Literary Award, a selection of outstanding works from the past year. New poetry collections are also available, featuring poets Bae Ju-yeol of Yeongju, North Gyeongsang Province, and Seok Min-jae of Hadong, South Gyeongsang Province. It is a joy to discover the distinctive poetic worlds of these two poets. Critic Park Dae-hyun reviewed both poets.
In this issue, poet Kim Seong-chun of Gyeongju visits his hometown of Yeongdo, Busan. Tracing a poet's hometown is a unique experience. Poet Bo-woo accompanied Kim Seong-chun on his visit. The new poems are well-balanced, featuring a diverse range of writers, from established to emerging, including Park Mong-gu, Hwang Myeong-ja, Kim Ha-ha, Jeong Yun-cheon, Kim So-young, Yoon Il-hyun, Jeong Yi-gyeong, Kim Eun-sook, Jeong Won-geun, Kang Jun-cheol, Jeong Hoon, Ryu Gyeong, Kim Mi-ryeong, Kim Myeong-eun, Lee Du-ye, Geum Ji-eun, Ryu Heun, Oh Yu-gyun, Lee Dam-ha, Seo Geum-ja, Jeong Ji-woo, Ryu Mi-ya, Choi Kyung-mi, Kim Se-woong, Kim Ryeo, Kim Do-hyang, Seong Mi-yeong, Park Kyung-seo, Kim Jong-sik, Hyeon I-ryeong, Shin Dong-jae, Jo Hwi-mun, Kim Su-su, Lee Hyang-sook, Jeong Haeng, and Choi Woong-sik. The diverse collection of writers promises to double the enjoyment of encountering diverse poetry.
This year's New Writer's Award winners in the poetry category include Kang Kyung-sook from Yangsan, South Gyeongsang Province, Kim Neu-ti from Yongin, Gyeonggi Province, and Kim Bu-hoe from Gimpo. While most of the winners are older, physical limitations are a prejudice, so we'll ignore the Siphon. The Poem Essay category includes prose by essayists Song Yeon-hee, Kim Hee-jun, Lee Bang-ju, Kim Na-hyun, and Ahn Byeong-geon, as well as poet Kim Do-i. The popular series "Humanities Walk" by humanist Kim Jong-hee, featuring "Kim Heung-soo, Ma Kwang-soo, and Me," and poet Hong Il-pyo's "Essay on Characters" were featured. Critic Jeong Hoon reviewed the poetry collections "Labor is Blue Oxygen" by Park Cheol-yeong from Suncheon, South Jeolla Province, and "The Time the Lunchbox Returns" by Ahn Chang-seop from Jinhae, South Gyeongsang Province. The "Poetry Mailbox," a look into new poetry collections, included poems from the collections of poets Go Ju-hee, Kim Gwang-myeong, Kim Gi-yeon, Kim Su, Park Mi-ra, Park Mi-jeong, Park Seong-gyu, Son Jeung-ho, Shim Su-ja, Ahn Chang-seop, Lee Gyu-yeol, Lee Dal-gyun, Lee Eung-in, Jang Cheol-mun, Jeong Gye-won, Jeon Sook, Jeong Seon-woo, Jeong Yi-rang, Choi Jeong-ran, Han Yeong-chae, and Hong Jong-cheol.
Finally, poet Kang Min-sook's artistic journey to Shangri-la, a Tibetan paradise, was featured alongside her poetry. We introduce the beautiful scenery of Amdruktso Lake, a natural masterpiece, and the Tashilhunpo Monastery, a gem of Shigatse, as well as the skyway from Lhasa to Xining via the Qingchang Railway.
The Spring 2026 issue will feature a special feature on a survey of poets, marking the 10th anniversary of Siphon's founding.
