경기도를 대표하는 아마추어 합창단인 ‘난파합창단(단장 박완건)’이 창단 60주년을 맞아 웅장한 기념 무대를 선보인다. 난파 홍영후 선생의 음악 정신을 계승하며 60년간 경기지역 문화예술을 선도해 온 난파합창단은 오는 12월 16일(화) 저녁 7시 30분, 수원 경기아트센터 대극장에서 헨델의 오라토리오 <메시아(Messiah)> 전곡 연주를 무대에 올린다.

이번 60주년 기념 연주는 지난 2년간 단원들의 각별한 열정과 의지를 모아 준비한 역작이다. 헨델의 <메시아> 전곡을 연주하며 60년 역사의 깊이와 음악적 성장을 응축하여 관객들에게 전달할 예정이다.
특히, 국내 최정상급 솔리스트들의 협연으로 무대의 완성도를 높인다. 소프라노 임청화, 메조소프라노 이현승, 테너 김효종, 베이스바리톤 송필화 교수가 솔리스트로 참여한다. 반주는 유럽을 중심으로 활동하는 신용천의 고전음악 연주단체 <서울바로크앙상블>이 맡으며, 피아노는 김승연 선생이 맡는다.
