【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=대구 북구청(청장 배광식)은 오는 19일부터 내년 2월 8일까지 52일 동안 팔거천 야외스케이트장을 운영한다고 밝혔다.
팔거천 야외스케이트장은 2023년 첫 개장 이후 북구를 대표하는 겨울 명소로 자리잡았다. 지난해 이용객이 증가하며 '북구 겨울 놀이터'로서의 명성을 확고히 했다.
올해 스케이트장은 읍내동 럭키광장 일원에 마련된다. 일반(55m×20m)과 초보(10m×20m)용 스케이트장을 각각 분리해 운영해 이용자 수준에 맞는 안전한 관람 환경을 갖췄다.
또 얼음썰매장(15m×20m), 아이스튜브슬라이드(8m×40m) 등 어린이와 가족이 함께 즐길 수 있는 다양한 체험 시설도 함께 운영된다.
매점, 휴게소, 야외쉼터, 회전썰매존 등 각종 편의시설도 확충해 가족 단위 방문객들의 만족도를 높일 예정이다.
특히 올해는 상부에 지붕을 설치해 기상 여건과 관계없이 빙질을 안정적으로 유지할 수 있게 됐다. 또한 현장 예매 외에도 온라인 사전예매 시스템을 새로 도입해 혼잡을 줄이고 이용 편의를 높인다.
북구청은 이달부터 시설 조성과 시범 운영을 거쳐 12월 19일 공식 개장한다.
배광식 북구청장은 “‘Don’t worry, 氷 Happy!’라는 슬로건처럼 겨울에도 주민들이 활기차게 즐길 수 있게 다양한 체험 놀이존을 준비했다”며 “합리적인 비용으로 가족 모두가 안전하게 즐길 수 있는 건전한 겨울 여가 공간이 될 수 있도록 많은 관심과 이용을 바란다”고 말했다.
