위원장 양윤제를 포함한 11명의 예결특위 위원들은 12일부터 18일까지 총 7일간 예산안 및 기금운용계획변경안에 대한 종합 심사를 진행한다.
이번에 심사하는 2026년도 예산안은 총 3조 880억 원으로, 전년보다 1,980억 원 증가했다. 반면 2025년도 제3회 추가경정예산안은 제2회 추경 대비 420억 원이 감액된 3조 2,733억 원으로 편성됐다.
양윤제 위원장은 “지역 경제가 어려운 만큼 민생경제 회복을 최우선 가치로 두고 시민의 혈세가 낭비되지 않도록 모든 사업을 면밀하게 검토하겠다”며 “성과가 부족하거나 정책 효과가 불분명한 사업은 과감히 조정해 재정의 지속 가능성과 건전성을 확보하겠다”고 강조했다.
한편, 포항시의회는 오는 19일 제2차 본회의를 열어 내년도 예산안을 최종 확정할 예정이다.
