【충북 브레이크뉴스】김봉수 기자=대한노인회 진천군지회는 15일 진천군 노인복지관에서 ‘제13회 노인자원봉사 대축제’를 개최했다.
이날 행사에는 송기섭 진천군수를 비롯한 각 기관, 단체장과 지역 어르신, 자원봉사 관계자 등 200여 명이 참석해 지역사회 곳곳에서 묵묵히 봉사해온 어르신들에게 따뜻한 격려와 깊은 감사의 마음을 전했다.
기념식은 노인봉사단의 식전공연을 시작으로 노인자원봉사 활성화 기여자 표창 수여, 주요 내빈 축사 순으로 진행됐다.
행사에 참석한 한 어르신 봉사자는 “나보다 더 힘든 이웃을 돕겠다는 마음으로 시작한 일이 이렇게 뜻깊은 결실을 맺게 돼 기쁘다”며 “앞으로도 몸이 허락하는 날까지 작은 힘이나마 보태고 싶다”고 말했다.
박승구 대한노인회 진천군지회장은 “고령에도 불구하고 봉사 현장을 지키며 지역을 위해 헌신해 주시는 모든 어르신 봉사단이 진정한 주인공”이라며 “노인봉사단이 건강하고 활기차게 사회에 공헌하실 수 있도록 더욱 세심하게 지원해 나가겠다”고 말했다.
