【충북 브레이크뉴스】김봉수 기자=충북 증평군은 16일 군의회 소회의실에서 군의원들을 대상으로 ‘2025년 찾아가는 아동권리교육’을 실시했다.
이번 교육은 유니세프 아동친화도시 조성 기준에서 정치권의 아동권리 이해를 강조하고 있는 데 따라, 아동 권리를 존중하는 정책 환경을 조성하기 위해 마련됐다.
교육은 △유엔아동권리협약 △아동의 4대 권리(생존·보호·발달·참여권) △아동학대의 개념과 예방·대응 방법 등 아동정책 수립에 필수적인 내용을 중심으로 진행됐다.
특히 충북중부아동보호전문기관 전문 강사가 강의를 맡아 아동학대 실태와 실제 사례를 공유하고 아동의 관점에서 정책을 설계해야 할 필요성을 강조하는 등 현장 행정에 적용 가능한 내용에 초점을 맞췄다.
조윤성 군의장은 “이번 교육은 군의회가 아동의 눈높이에서 정책을 바라보고, 아동의 의견을 군정에 반영하기 위한 중요한 과정”이라며 “앞으로도 증평군의회는 아동이 안전하고 행복하며 존중받는 지역사회를 만들기 위해 책임 있는 역할을 다하겠다”고 말했다.
한편, 군은 아동의 권리 인식 향상과 건강한 성장 환경 구축을 위해 지난해부터 찾아가는 아동권리교육을 운영하고 있으며, 지역 내 아동관련 기관 25개소 553명을 대상으로 교육을 진행해 큰 호응을 얻은 바 있다.
올해는 교육 대상을 초·중·고 학생, 아동·청소년 관련 기관, 성인 등 전 세대로 확대해 보다 폭넓은 아동권리 인식 확산을 추진하고 있다.
이와 함께 군은 아동학대 예방을 주제로 한 방탈출 게임, 삼행시 만들기 활동 등을 포함한 참여형 아동권리 캠프도 함께 운영하며 아동과 지역 주민의 관심과 참여를 높이고 있다.
군 관계자는 “찾아가는 아동권리교육은 아동이 자신의 권리를 알고 스스로 지킬 수 있는 힘을 기르는 소중한 기회”라며 “앞으로도 모든 세대가 함께 아동권리를 이해하고 존중하는 지역사회를 만들기 위한 노력을 지속해 나가겠다”고 밝혔다.
