2005년 창단 이후 이탈리아 오페라 전통에 한국적 감성과 창작 정신을 결합해 온 누오바 오페라단의 푸치니 「라 보엠」이 제18회 대한민국오페라대상의 영예를 안았다.
대한민국오페라대상조직위원회는 15일 프레스센터에서 제18회 대한민국오페라대상 시상식을 개최하고, 누오바 오페라단의 「라 보엠」을 대상 수상작으로 선정해 트로피를 수여했다.
수십 개의 국내 민간 오페라 단체가 공동 출자해 만든 이 조직위원회는 매년 국내 오페라계의 우수한 성과를 발굴하고 격려하는 역할을 해왔다.
누오바 오페라단의 「라 보엠」은 출연진과 조명, 의상, 무대 연출 등 모든 요소에서 탁월한 조화를 이루며 심사위원단으로부터 최고 점수를 받았다.
특히 캐스팅과 연출의 전문성이 돋보였다는 평가를 받았다.
이 작품은 2011년 11월 예술의전당 오페라극장에서 초연된 이래 꾸준히 사랑받아 왔으며, 올해 대한민국오페라페스티벌에서 다시 무대에 올라 완성도 높은 공연을 선보였다.
누오바 오페라단은 이탈리아 오페라의 정통성을 유지하면서도 한국 관객의 정서에 맞는 연출과 해석으로 차별화된 무대를 만들어 왔다는 점에서 높이 평가받았다.

창작오페라부문, 독립운동사 담은 「대한광복단」 수상
창작오페라부문 최우수상은 사단법인 조선오페라단의 「대한광복단」이 받았다.
일제강점기 무장 독립운동 단체의 결성과 투쟁을 다룬 이 작품은 창작오페라의 예술성과 완성도를 높였다는 평가를 받았다.
