【브레이크뉴스 울진】이우근 기자=한국수력원자력 한울원자력본부(본부장 이세용)가 지난 12월 20일 개최한 제3회 ‘한울 상고문화제 겨울(冬)편’ 피아노 콩쿠르가 지역 학생과 학부모들의 큰 호응 속에 성황리에 마무리됐다.

‘상고(常考)’는 ‘항상 생각한다’는 의미로, 아이들이 스스로 사고하고 표현하는 힘을 기를 수 있도록 기획된 어린이 문화 프로그램이다. 상고문화제는 봄(春) 사생대회, 가을(秋) 글짓기 대회, 겨울(冬) 피아노 콩쿠르로 구성돼 사계절 내내 다양한 문화예술 체험 기회를 제공하고 있다.
‘울진에서 자라나는 내일의 호로비츠를 위하여’라는 부제로 열린 이번 피아노 콩쿠르에는 관내 초·중학생 50명이 참가했으며, 피아니스트와 교수진이 참여한 공정한 블라인드 심사를 통해 총 16명이 수상의 영예를 안았다.
특히 한울원자력본부 본부장상은 장학금과 함께 전문 피아니스트의 개인 레슨을 받을 수 있는 ‘마스터 클래스 수강권’이 부상으로 제공돼 눈길을 끌었다. 해당 상은 울진초등학교 3학년 강세영 학생에게 돌아갔으며, 강 학생의 부모는 “예상하지 못한 1등이라는 결과에 아직도 실감이 나지 않는다”며 “마스터 클래스 교육을 통해 아이가 더욱 성장할 수 있을 것 같아 감사하다”고 소감을 전했다.
경연 이후에는 심사위원으로 참여한 피아니스트 김태은의 특별 연주가 이어져 콩쿠르의 의미를 더했다. 김태은 피아니스트는 “학생들의 진지한 모습에서 어린 시절 콩쿠르에 참가하던 기억이 떠올랐다”며 “참가 학생들의 실력이 매우 뛰어났고, 모두가 좋은 결과를 거두길 응원한다”고 격려의 말을 전했다.
이세용 한울원자력본부장은 “아이들이 무대에서 보여준 집중력과 열정이 매우 인상 깊었다”며 “이번 대회를 통해 발굴된 재능들이 앞으로 울진을 빛내는 훌륭한 예술인으로 성장하길 바란다”고 말했다. 이어 “내년에는 상고문화제를 사계절로 더욱 풍성하게 운영해 지역을 대표하는 어린이 문화축제로 자리매김할 수 있도록 노력하겠다”고 밝혔다.
