경남도의회 정재욱 의원(국민의힘, 진주1)은 26일 충무공동에서 주민대표와 지역 상인, 민영 주차타워 관계자 등이 참석한 가운데 간담회를 열고 상권 회복과 주차 문제 개선 방안을 논의했다.
간담회에서 상인들은 충무공동 상권이 ‘주차가 불편하고 요금이 비싸다’는 인식이 확산되면서 방문 수요가 줄고, 소상공인 매출 감소와 상권 침체로 이어지고 있다고 호소했다. 주민들 역시 주차요금 부담이 불법주정차와 도로 혼잡을 부추겨 상권 접근성을 떨어뜨리는 악순환이 반복되고 있다고 지적했다.
