【충북 브레이크뉴스】김봉수 기자=충북 진천군은 29일 충북도의회 회의실에서 열린 친일재산 국가귀속 시민단체 현장 간담회에서 권오을 국가보훈부 장관으로부터 국가보훈부 장관 감사패를 수상했다.
이번 간담회는 ‘보훈의 가치, 지역과 함께 키우다’를 주제로 열렸으며 이강일 국회의원과 친일재산 국가귀속 시민운동단체가 공동 주관했다.
이 자리는 국가보훈부와 지역 친일재산 국가귀속 시민단체, 관계 기관 간 소통을 강화하고, 친일재산 환수 재개에 대한 정부 정책을 공유하기 위해 마련됐다.
이날 현장에는 광복회 충북지부를 비롯해 충북시민단체연대회의, 충북참여자치시민연대 등 친일재산 환수를 위해 활동해 온 8개 시민단체의 대표와 주요 임원 등 30여 명이 참석했다.
특히 보재이상설선생 기념사업회와 단재 신채호 선생 기념사업회 등 충북을 대표하는 주요 독립운동가 기념 단체들이 함께 자리해, 진천군이 추진해 온 친일재산 국가귀속 프로젝트가 단순한 재산 환수에 그치지 않고 충북 지역의 보훈 문화 확산과 올바른 역사 인식 제고에 크게 이바지하고 있음을 널리 알리는 뜻깊은 시간이 됐다.
또한 이날 간담회에서 진천군은 15년간 중단됐던 친일재산 환수의 필요성을 다시금 일깨우고 사회적 공감대를 확산하는 데 이바지한 공로를 인정받아 감사패를 받았다.
군 관계자는 “친일재산 환수는 단발성 조치에 그쳐서는 안 되며, 지속적이고 완전한 환수를 위해 국가와 국회, 지방정부, 시민단체가 유기적인 협력 네트워크를 구축해야 한다”고 밝혔다.
이어 “충북 지역이 보훈 문화 확산은 물론 친일 청산의 아이콘으로 자리매김할 수 있도록 지속적으로 노력해 나가겠다”고 덧붙였다.
한편 군은 지난 8월 19일 전국 지방정부 중 최초로 친일재산 국가귀속 TF팀을 신설했으며 친일반민족행위자 1,005명과 관내 17만여 필지를 전수조사, 총 2차례에 걸쳐 친일재산으로 의심되는 토지 6필지에 대해 법무부에 정식 조사의뢰한 바 있다.
