브레이크뉴스 최애리 기자= 종합 홈 인테리어 전문기업 한샘이 11년간 이어온 공간개선 사회공헌 활동을 통해 누적 1,000개 공간을 새롭게 단장하며 약 2만 명의 삶의 질 향상에 기여한 것으로 나타났다.
한샘은 2015년부터 ‘더 나은 삶을 위한 공간의 기준을 만들어 모두의 일상에 가치를 더한다’는 기업 철학 아래 공간개선 사업을 지속해 왔으며, 이를 통해 아동·청소년, 어르신, 장애인, 소방공무원 등 사회 곳곳의 생활 환경을 개선해왔다고 밝혔다.
이 같은 활동은 공공기관과 지역사회로부터도 성과를 인정받고 있다. 한샘은 서울 마포구청으로부터 ‘2025년 주민참여 효도밥상’ 유공자 표창을 수상했으며, 보건복지부와 한국사회복지협의회가 주관하는 ‘지역사회공헌 인정제’에서 5년 연속 인정기관으로 선정돼 올해 최고 등급인 ‘S등급’을 획득했다. 또한 ‘서울지속가능나눔대전’에서는 사회공헌 부문 서울특별시장 표창을 받았다.

1,000번째 공간개선 대상은 경기도 시흥시에 위치한 ‘푸른지역아동센터’로, 노후한 부엌과 학습 공간을 전면 개선해 아이들이 편안하게 생활할 수 있는 환경으로 탈바꿈했다. 앞서 경기도 안산시 ‘징검다리지역아동센터’ 역시 주방 가구 교체와 도배, 바닥 공사 등을 통해 안전성과 편의성이 크게 향상됐다.
장애인과 어르신을 위한 공간 개선도 꾸준히 이어지고 있다. 올해 4월에는 서울 금천구 ‘기쁨나무 장애인보호작업장’의 카페 공간을 리모델링해 발달장애인 근로자들이 보다 안전하고 쾌적한 환경에서 근무할 수 있도록 했다.

공공안전 분야에서도 한샘의 활동은 이어진다. 2019년 소방청과 업무협약을 체결한 이후 전국 소방센터의 근무·휴식 환경 개선을 지속 추진해 왔으며, 올해는 여수와 부산 지역 소방센터의 노후 시설을 새롭게 단장했다. 특히 부산 해운대소방서 반여119안전센터는 한샘의 993번째 공간개선 사례이자 39번째 소방시설 개선 현장으로, 사무공간과 대기실, 샤워실, 주방 등을 전면 개보수했다.

해당 활동은 한샘의 1,005번째 공간개선 현장인 시흥 ‘참사랑지역아동센터’와 연계해 진행됐으며, 노후 주방 리모델링과 함께 아이들의 일상 안전까지 아우르는 사회공헌 사례로 평가받고 있다.
임직원 참여형 나눔 활동도 활발하다. 한샘 임직원 봉사 동호회 ‘훈훈한샘’은 연말을 맞아 여성 청소년을 위한 위생용품 키트 제작 봉사활동을 진행했다. 총 32개의 위생키트에는 생리대와 위생용품, 임직원들이 직접 작성한 손편지가 담겼으며, 시흥 지역 여성 청소년들에게 전달될 예정이다.
