생거진천노인복지센터, 연말 맞아 우양재단 어르신 먹거리 지원사업 운영

  【충북 브레이크뉴스】김봉수 기자=생거진천노인복지센터는 연말연시를 맞아 12월 25일부터 오는 1월 1일까지 결식이 우려되는 지역 어르신들을 대상으로 먹거리 지원사업을 운영 중이라고 30일 밝혔다.

  본 사업은 생거진천노인복지센터가 사회복지법인 우양재단에서 실시한 공모사업 ‘공휴일과 주말 어르신 먹거리 지원사업’에 선정돼 추진됐다.

  이를 통해 지역 어르신들의 고립감을 완화하고 식사 공백으로 인한 건강 악화를 예방할 수 있을 것으로 보인다.

  이인성 센터장은 “가족의 부재와 경제적 어려움으로 결식 위험에 놓인 어르신들이 많다”며 “이번 우양재단 지원사업 덕분에 어르신들이 따듯한 연말을 보내실 수 있게 됐다”고 후원처인 우양재단에 감사 인사를 전했다.

  한편 사회복지법인 우양재단은 1999년부터 우리 사회의 끼니를 걱정하는 이웃들이 없도록 독거노인과 저소득 가정 등 어려운 이웃들에게 좋은 먹거리를 지원하고 있다.
