<브레이크뉴스강원= 김일웅 기자>강원경찰청(청장 최현석)은 새해를 맞아 강릉 경포를 비롯한 도내 동해안 주요 해맞이 명소에 30만 명 이상의 관광객이 방문할 것으로 전망됨에 따라, 대규모 인파 관리와 교통 소통 확보 등 전반적인 국민 안전 확보에 총력을 기울일 방침이라고 밝혔다.
강원경찰은 해맞이 기간 동안 경찰관 기동대 3개 부대를 포함해 도내 각 경찰서 소속 경찰관 등 총 559명을 현장에 배치해 교통 관리와 인파 사고 예방 활동을 강화한다. 특히 인파 운집이 예상되는 지역과 교통 혼잡 우려 구간을 중심으로 경찰 자체 점검과 유관기관 합동 점검을 선제적으로 실시해 왔다.
