<브레이크뉴스 영월= 김일웅 기자>영월군은 2026년 새해를 맞아 순국선열과 호국영령의 숭고한 희생정신을 기리고 나라 사랑의 의미를 되새기기 위해 1월 1일 오전 10시, 금강공원 내 충혼탑에서 신년 충혼탑 참배 행사를 개최했다.
이번 행사는 장릉 참배 이후 진행됐으며, 보훈단체장을 비롯해 영월군의회와 강원도의회 의원, 각 기관·단체장, 공무원 등 70여 명이 참석한 가운데 엄숙하고 경건한 분위기 속에서 치러졌다.
행사는 국민의례를 시작으로 헌화와 분향 순으로 진행됐으며, 참석자들은 조국을 위해 헌신한 순국선열과 호국영령의 넋을 기리며 새해에도 국가와 지역 발전을 위해 최선을 다할 것을 다짐했다.
최명서 영월군수는 “이번 신년 충혼탑 참배를 통해 나라를 위해 희생하신 분들의 뜻을 다시 한번 되새기고, 군민 모두가 화합과 도약의 한 해를 만들어 가는 계기가 되길 바란다”고 밝혔다.
한편 영월군은 앞으로도 보훈의 가치를 존중하고 계승하는 다양한 보훈 정책과 행사를 지속적으로 추진해 나갈 계획이다.
