한설 예비역 장군(육군 소장)은 1월5일 SNS 저널인 페이스북에 “더불어민주당 공천헌금 비리 문제에 대해”라는 제목의 글을 게재했다. 이 글에서 “새로운 정치세력의 등장이 절실한 상황”이라고 주장했다.

한설 예비역 장군은 “엘리트가 가져야 할 최소한의 조건은 말과 행동의 일치, 돈문제에 대한 분명한 태도라고 생각합니다. 아무리 학벌이 좋고 높은 직책을 경험했다고 하더라도 돈 문제에서 말과 행동이 일치하지 않고, 돈문제에 의혹이 많으면 기본적인 자격이 미흡한 사람이라고 하겠습니다. 저는 민주당은 이번 공천헌금 비리 문제로 공당으로서의 자격을 상실했다고 생각합니다. 이재명이 직접적인 책임을 져야 하는 문제입니다”면서 “이재명의 공천비리 개입 문제는 즉각 수사 되어야 합니다.”고 진단했다.
