[브레이크뉴스=황민성 기자] 밀양시가 올해 시정 운영 방향으로 "지난해 성과와 기회를 바탕으로 도시 전체에 활력을 불어넣겠다"고 7일 밝혔다.
안병구 밀양시장은 이날 신년 기자 브리핑을 열고 올해 시정 운영 방향과 핵심 비전을 발표했다.
시 올해 총예산은 전년 대비 752억원 증가한 1조 1천594억원으로 확정됐다.
특히 일반회계는 처음으로 1조원을 넘어서며, 도시 성장과 주요 사업 추진을 위한 재정 기반을 한층 강화했다.
또한 체류형 생활인구가 월평균 약 47만명에 달해, 도내 인구감소 지역 가운데 생활인구 1위를 기록하며 ‘실질적인 생활도시’로서의 가능성을 확인했다고 설명했다.
밀양시는 2025년 3대 핵심 성과로 △대한민국 문화도시 선정 △기회발전특구 지정 △김해~밀양 고속도로 예비타당성 조사 통과를 꼽았다.
특히 기회발전특구 지정을 계기로 지난해 6개 기업, 2천590억원의 투자를 유치하는 등 지역경제 기반을 확충하는 성과를 거뒀다고 평가했다.
올해 5대 시정 운영 방향으로는 첫째, 첨단산업과 미래경제 성장동력 강화를 위해 나노국가산단 2단계 조성 기반을 마련하고, 수소산업 전주기 클러스터를 단계적으로 완성해 나갈 계획이다.
특히 함양~울산, 대구~부산 고속도로가 교차하는 산외면 남기리 일원에 9만평 규모의 물류단지를 조성해 영남권 물류 거점으로 도약하겠다는 청사진을 제시했다.
둘째, 지속가능한 미래농업 실현을 위해 스마트팜 혁신밸리와 연계한 임대형 스마트팜을 확대하고, 외국인 계절근로자 유치를 지속하여 농촌 인력 문제를 해결할 방침이다.
셋째, 체류형 관광 허브 도시 완성을 위해 선샤인 밀양 테마파크를 중심으로 힐링 관광 모델을 제시하고, 낙동선셋 디지털타워 등 야간 관광 자원을 확충해 낮과 밤 모두 즐길 수 있는 관광도시를 만들 계획이다.
넷째, 교육·돌봄·복지 도시 조성을 위해 밀양 다봄센터를 초등학교 4학년까지 확대 운영하고, 청년 공공임대주택 250호 공급 및 최대 1,000만원의 출산장려금 지원 등 생애주기별 맞춤형 복지를 강화한다.
다섯째, 도시·교통 인프라 확충을 위해 김해~밀양 고속도로 조기 착수에 행정력을 집중하고, 도심과 산업단지를 잇는 제2남천교를 올해 6월 내 개통하여 시민 이동 편의를 높일 예정이다.
